Hello, Hope someone can assist.
The check box next to the Fit report to _ page(s) wide in the Print Report box doesn't stay checked.
Before printing a report I have to go in to Print Reports and check the box.
Tried the Tool Hub fixes but that didn't work.
Does anyone know how to get the box to stay checked all the time?
Hoping someone can help. Thank you.
Hi there, @user 10. Let me share some insights about printing reports on QuickBooks Desktop.
When emailing reports by batch through the Process Multiple Reports panels, currently, QBDT doesn't have the option to fit the report to 1 page wide. Only when sending/emailing a single report is this option available, however, you can use it as a workaround.
Here's how:
1. Go to the Reports menu at the top, then pick Memorized Reports and Memorized Reports Lists.
2. Locate and double-click the report to open.
3. Click the Email option at the top and choose how you want to send it.

Hello Ethel,
Thank you for your reply. Appreciate you assistance.
I do use the memorized feature quite a lot. It works very well for certain reports.
Going back to my question, my apologies for not being clear. Let me try again.
In printing reports from QB: File/Print Report/Settings Tab
At the very bottom of the Settings tab there is a box you can click. It reads: Fit Report to _page(s) wide
If that box is clicked that enable reports that are wider than the normal to fit that width of the page.
Until a several weeks ago that feature always stayed checked. Now it unchecks automatically.
It should not do this.
Is there a fix?
Good morning, @user 10.
Thanks for reaching back out to the Community and letting us know some more information on this matter. Let's work together to get this resolved.
I suggest troubleshooting with our PDF and Print problems guide for QuickBooks Desktop that could help in this situation. Here's the article:

Hi Candice,
Thank you for your assistance. We tried the Tool Hub repair and it did not work.
Contacted support and support remoted in but the session timed out before I could show him the problem. And the support had closed the chat when he remoted in. Support didn't seem to have a solution.
If I click on the Print to fit, it will save as or print correctly that one time. Next time I go to print, have to click the box again. The click still does not stay.
Surprisingly, when creating an invoice the page width is what it should be
The reports affected are mostly from the General Ledger, and transactions ledger.
Glad to have you back, @user 10.
Since the QuickBooks Tool Hub doesn't work for you and still you need to click the box again. In that case, let's verify and rebuild your data. It finds the most common data issues in a company file and fixes them.
Here's how:
To rebuild:
Once done, attempt to print and check if you have to click the box again. Here's an article that'll serve as your step-by-step guide in resolving common data damage on your company file: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.
If the issue persists, let's repair your QuickBooks Desktop file. Securing a backup copy of your company file is still needed. You can refer to this article to learn more about repairing QuickBooks: Fix QuickBooks Desktop.
Also, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Customer Support again. They have tools that can securely check your account and further help you with this matter. Just click this link on how to reach them: Contact the QuickBooks Desktop Support Team.
I'm also adding these articles for further guidance about running and customizing reports in QBDT:

I have used quickbooks for years - I am currently using Quickbooks 2019 for Desktop - Mac version. I have no idea what the update did to the printing function but I now have super wide margins, my ability to size a report to the page width is greyed out so it is no longer able to be checked and if I change the margins it does nothing other than make the margins worse and the typeface smaller. The only way I have found to get a report to print correctly is to export it to excel and print from there - that's ridiculous. As is the option of emailing myself to print the report. Seriously, not helpful and time consuming and I pay for this ...
Thanks for reaching out to us, @JC123.
I can share additional insights about this report printing concern.
I know you already tried several troubleshooting to rule out the problem from this thread. Have you tried updating or reinstalling your printer driver? Also, make sure you're using the updated Adobe Reader to ensure printing forms will not have any issues.
See the printer and system requirements here:
If the issue comes up again, you can Contact Us and we'll get you up and running again.

Hi Joesem M,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
Thank you for your assistance.
We verified the data, no errors. Then repaired with the Quickbooks Tool Hub again. Not sure why but that seemed to fix the wide margin problem for now.
Thank you for taking the time and posting the detailed fixes. Much appreciated
Hope you don't mind if I copied your fixes onto a word document to save just in case this problem returns. Hoping it doesn't but if it does we will rebuild data as you suggested.
