prior year accountant changes not accepted

I have a client who failed to accept the prior year accountant changes.

They removed the restrictions and submitted a new accountant's copy - is there a simply way to incorporate the prior year changes, there are a lot of them as i spent substantial time correcting prior year errors in the accounts payable details - printed they encompass 13 pages.

Any advice, other than we'll just have to redo all the changes would be appreciated

We can still resend the accountant changes to your client, Jbynum. Alternatively, if you have a backup file of the accountant changes, we can use that to send to your client. Let me continue discussing this below.

If you don't have a backup file, then we need to manually make corrections to the accountant's copy.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu and select Send Company File.
  2. Select Accountant's Copy then choose Client Activities.
  3. Import Changes:
    • If you have an Accountant’s Changes file (.qby), select "Import Accountant Changes from File" and browse for the file.
    • If using the Accountant's Copy File Transfer Service, select "Import Accountant’s Changes from Web" and follow the prompts.
  4. Then, review changes.

Having a straightforward way to incorporate changes from the previous year can be beneficial, Jbynum. Unfortunately, once your client removes the restriction, the Accountant's Copy can no longer be imported into the company file.

While it may be time-consuming, the most effective approach to address the changes is to edit the Accountant's Copy they've provided or have your client manually input the updates from the previous year.
