I was just given QuickBooks Premier Edition 2019 as a present to aid me in a new bookkeeping business. Part of the new business plan was to get a Pro-Advisor Certification, and now I have found out that the Pro-Advisor Certification for Desktop requires a minimum of $350.00 for new software (which I already have one version of) plus training. Is there any way in order to pay the difference between the software versions so that I can have the training and software needed to get the Certification, without having to just throw away what I already have?
By the way, I know that QuickBooks is trying to promote their online platform, but there are still a lot of clients that prefer the desktop version. And, when trying to find out how to get desktop certification, the website was not helpful or intuitive at all.

No. The Pro Advisor fee is an annual fee to be part of the program and comes with a bunch of free stuff, including QB Enterprise and Premier.
Maybe you can return your copy of QB to Intuit for a refund.
I cannot find my Pro-advisor Desktop certification program. It seems that Quickbooks wants you to be on the online system. I a paid the $500 to get the program and cannot find it anywhere.
Hi there, @Joni9. Allow me to share some details about the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) ProAdvisor Certification program.
The QuickBooks Desktop Advanced Certification training modules and exam has been discontinued effective last December 31, 2018. Certified users will continue to have the Advanced Certification status extended for three years.
The extension started in January 2019 and will remain active until January 1, 2022. For more information about the discontinuation, please visit the article I've attached below: ProAdvisor Certification FAQs.
Please don't hesitate to comment below if you have further concerns about ProAdvisor Certification or any questions. I'll be sure to get back to you.
So what was I charged $500 for? They called it the Proadvisor Desktop accountant something or other.
Thank you for responding in this thread, Joni9.
For more information about the plans and pricing, I'd suggest contacting our Sales Team.
