QB Desktop - Print Letters and Envelopes

Hello all!

 

I'm trying to generate letters and envelopes for several customers in Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise: Manufacturing and Wholesale 2020. I keep getting the error message in the pic below each time I get to the generate envelope step. 

 

For clarification, these are the steps I'm taking:

Company -> Prepare Letters with Envelopes -> Collection Letters -> Choose Recipients (Next) -> Review & Edit Recipients (Next) -> Choose a Letter Template (Next) -> Enter Name & Title (Next) -> [letters are generated in MS Word then I print and minimize] -> Print Letters & Envelopes (Next) -> Envelope Options (OK) -> [envelopes are generated in MS Word with the error message from the screenshot below]. 

 

Is this a QB issue or MS Word issue? What do I need to do to correct it? Thank you in advance!

I appreciate the details and screenshot a lot. One of the programs may cause this issue. Rest assured, let's fix it by running the QuickBooks Print and Print Repair Tool from QuickBooks Tool Hub.

 

It will help resolve common errors. Let me show you how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. We recommend you download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Then save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've already installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The variant will be displayed on the bottom right, or you can select About to view it.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

 

From the Tool Hub, run the QuickBooks PDF and Print Repair Tool.

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Select QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool. It will take about a minute to run.
  3. Attempt to print, email, or save as a PDF from QuickBooks Desktop again.
