Within QBO on the left side is the bar which allows you to select Dashboard, Banking, Sales, etc. Is it possible to edit this menu to remove the items that I do not use or reorder the items towards the top that I use all of the time? As an example -- I don't use QBO for Capital, Payroll or mileage, so I would like to remove these.
Thanks for visiting the Community, @Giffola. I’m here to share some information about customizing your sidebar menu in QuickBooks Online.
The left pane contains the different sections of features in QuickBooks. Personalizing them according to your preferences is currently unavailable.
Additionally, you can change your view by clicking the Switch to Business view from the Gear icon.
I’ve added this link in case you need help navigating within QuickBooks. It includes all the features such as banking, reports and accounting, taxes, etc.
If you need further assistance with customizing QuickBooks, please feel free to let me know. I'd be glad to help you. Have a nice day.
Thanks for your quick reply. It's disappointing that the left side bar can not be customized to remove the items that I have no plans to utilize.
"Personalizing them according to your preferences is currently unavailable."
Then why is there a buttom to "Customize this menu" on all the selections in the navigation bar? What's the purpose?

Then why is there a "Customize this menu" selection on every element in the navigation bar?
Then why can you select "Customize this menu" on each of the items? What is the point?
Today when I logged in to QBO the side menu had totally changed. Nothing but advertisements in the Banking menu for example. I opened a Support Chat. The first three agents ended the chat right after asking for my name. The fourth agent wanted a lot of personal information I never have had to provide before (I refused, and ended the chat).
While waiting for the fourth agent to actually reply, I came upon this thread, which was helpful. In the event I got the original, much better menu back by choosing "Accountant's View" somewhere in the new menu. No explanation from the Support Chat why it changed in the first place.
I so miss the Desktop product, but am using Macs now instead of Windows, so am stuck with QBO. Been using QB for more than 15 years. It's gotten worse, not better. I hate the constant ads and all the supposedly helpful workflows that just get in the way of me doing what I need to do.
I agree that it is disappointing that the menu cannot be customized. There should be a setting to hide unwanted menu items and then a toggle to show or hide hidden items. I have 17 sections on my menu and only use 6 of them. The rest are a waste of space full of upsell products that I will never need.
I see how convenient it would be to have the settings to hide unwanted menu items and then a toggle to show or hide hidden items in QuickBooks, @comix4sale. I appreciate you for bringing that up in this thread.

I just want it to get moved (personally i hate that it takes up 1/3 of my screen. Why can't I move it to the top or shrink it?
