QBO Dashboard

Is there any way to alter the dashboard views? It's very uncomfortable to log in and find the layout I have gotten used to has changed and often in a way that is not helpful to me. Surely I am not the only user that feels this way. I have seen the option for custom dashboard discussed, but I have not seen any evidence of that being implemented. Rolling out changes just to show 'improvements' is disruptive. For the first time since 2013, I am feeling like I need to explore other options, online apps that don't mess with a customer's routine by rolling out unnecessary 'improvements.'

I'm here to help you with your dashboard concern, @chrisrundell.

If you're trying to change the dashboard view, we have the option to switch between the Business and Accountant view in QuickBooks Online.

Business view simplifies your workspace so day-to-day tasks like sales and billing are easier.

While Accountant view is what you're used to seeing if you've used QuickBooks Online for a while.

I agree with Chris. Change, even good change, is difficult. Change that makes things worse is very frustrating, to say the least.  My latest gripe is that in SALES on the dashboard for the "Last 12 months" used to show the current month but now does not. The look is different and I preferred it as it was previously.

How do we git rid of Workspace?  I hate this!  I will move to another tool if you keep forcing ugly UI on us!

Hello, kstairley.

I’d be glad to clarify why you’re seeing the workspace in your Dashboard.

This can happen when the Privacy feature is turned on. The workspace will show if you have transactions or activities that need your attention such as Invoices, Pay bills or Review transactions, Receive payments, etc.

Here's how to turn the Pricy off.

  1. Go to the Dashboard
  2. Select the Get things done
  3. On the left upper corner, click the Privacy to turn Off.

That'll do it. The information I provided should help you moving forward.

Keep me posted if you have concerns while working in QBO. I'll be here to help. Have a great day ahead.

The problem with that is that it also hides all the other cards/divs that show the business overview.  I want to see everything BUT the workspace.

Hi, kstairley.

I understand that you wanted to hide the workspace in QuickBooks Online. Currently, this option is unavailable. For now, you can turn on the privacy mode to turn off the dashboard.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Dashboard
  2. Select the Get things done
  3. On the left upper corner, click the Privacy to turn Off.

Moreover, I don’t want to leave you empty-handed, you'll want to visit our Community Help Articles hub in case you need some related articles in managing your account.

As always, you can get back to me if you have any additional questions in managing your account. I'm here for you. Have a great day!

Everything looked reasonably the same this morning but this afternoon my dashboard and the left hand column with all the shortcuts on it were gone.  I had no way to get to where I needed to be.  I called and talked to the virtual assistant, a waste of time.  Put myself in private mode and everything was normal again.  What happened between this morning and this afternoon?  Do I need to be in private mode constantly to work with your application?  I agree that most of your upgrades are a nuisance and not user friendly.

Hi there, @cjbuckmore.

This is not the kind of impression we want to live on you when updating QuickBooks Online (QBO). I also appreciate for initially performing the basic troubleshooting steps.

To avoid keeping logging into a private browser to access your account. You can clear your browser cache and cookies to run faster. This way, we can fix any browser-related issues that may cause the application to function oddly.

I have just had our dashboard change. I used it everyday. now it is worthless. I use the accountant view as it gave me what I needed. Now it has "Quick actions" with money and money out. these seem to only create new customer, vendors, and such. they do not give quick links to areas I use. Change is good to make things better for the customers, but as Intuit has shown with past issues, like the issues with sales tax being miss calculated and no sales order, they are not lessoning to the customers and are making changes that do not help them. I have seen some useful updates like the Nexus Reports, but most have been more of a bother then helpful.

So, is there a way to get the old Dashboard back? That would be a helpful start. Also is there a way to get the old customer transactions back, instead of having to click the edit icon?

Switching to the old Dashboard and customer transactions back is a great functionality, bweston.

As of now, this option is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. I'd recommend sending a feature request directly to our Product Development team. This helps us improve your experience and the features of the program.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear menu and then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feature request in the description box.
  3. Once done, click on Next.

You can also track feature requests through the Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online website.

Additionally, I've included this article that'll give you a snapshot of your business. This way, you can ensure your record is accurate: Run Reports in QuickBooks Online

You can count on me if you need help in managing your reports or transactions in QuickBooks. Take care and have a good one.

Yes, yes we all know this. This is a standard reply to issues that Intuit does not wish to address. I have sent number of feedback suggestions with no replies and nothing ever getting done. Hell, I am not even sure if they replay was a real person or just automated. If it was a real person, it was just a copy and past reply. These are the reasons that people are loosing faith in Intuit and QuickBooks. it seems no one is lessoning. Just generic replies. I really do not post in this forum as I seem to get this reply all the time

Sorry, just getting very frustrated with Intuit's support, or lack of.
