Thanks for getting back to this thread, @sammy_347. Allow me to chime in and provide further details to clarify things for you.
If you wish to use the same email address in creating a professional account in QuickBooks, there's no need for you to unlink the email associated with the student account. You can directly subscribe to the regular QuickBooks Online.
To create a professional account, visit the QuickBooks pricing page and select the subscription option you want.
Once you sign-up and it says This user ID is already taken, just click Sign In. Then, re-enter the same email and password. If you are subscribed to more than one company, you can switch them alternately.
Additionally, let me share this link to help manage your QuickBooks Online subscription. Whether you need to update the card on file, change your subscription, or view your billing history: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.
Keep me posted if you have follow-up questions about creating a professional QuickBooks account using the same email. I'll be around to help. Stay safe!
I am having the same issue except Quickbooks is listing my personal phone number somewhere on their site as the Quickbooks Support number. No one seems to be able to figure it out and/or fix it. Spend hours on the phone with no help and then they will send you to an email that will also not be able to do anything.
@katherinejoyceO The direction you have given for support don't correlate to any assistance at all. There is no Support tab at the link you provided. If you are lucky enough to find the Support tab there is no option for Educators Support. Quickbooks/Intuit really needs to address the Customer Support issues.
I am having the same isssue. I have tried all the same methods. Last fall they provided educator support that would call you back but it has been taken down. It is very frustrating and embarrassing as an educator. I am going to share with my administrator and perhaps I can write the corporate office. We've had bad experiences before.
I've had the same frustrating experience.
Last fall they had a contact phone number that would call you back but it seems they've since taken that down.
This is not the experience we want to leave to you, @acdamerica. Let me chime in and provide an accurate support page to get everything addressed.

I completely agree. I just register as an educator, added my class earlier today and signed out. Now this evening when I try to sign in, it takes me to QuickBooks itself and not the portal. And, I spent countless hours on hold, in chat and online trying to find the educator portal link. This is a disaster. If I could I'd cancel the college class and walk away from Intuit. Pathetic.
I'm with you. I feel completely frustrated after an unhelpful chat and 3 different tech support calls to different phone numbers. Intuit Tech Support is only for QB itself, not the Educator Portal. I can't get my questions answered, and now I'm concerned they will shut down my site. I created a demo company on the Educator Portal, and I'm getting messages now, a year later, that my subscription is about to expire. I never used the demo to keep company books, only to teach others how to use QB. The tech support people I have talked to have never even heard of the Portal. Very disappointing.
