QBO to QBO Transfer

To manage multiple companies, my accountant has created a bundle of QBO accounts. I have successfully moved 4 QBDT accounts to the new QBO accounts. However, I have two QBO accounts that need to migrate to new QBO Plus Accounts of the same names.

I downloaded QBO into a QBDT account and then migrated the QBDT data to the new QBO account. The transfer of data was mostly successful, but the associated bank accounts were missing data and balances were off by over $45,000 dollars. Note the desktop version already had the bad data so the QBO to QBDT download was the process in error.

Is there a better way to migrate from QBO to new QBO or fix the bank transfers on QBO to QBDT transfer?

QBO to QBO Transfer

Hello there, @Kravdave. I appreciate you giving details of your queries here in the Community forum.

I have here some insights to share about moving data between QuickBooks products. Reaching the target limit of exporting and importing data is one of the reasons for discrepancies when moving to a new company file, which could be the case of the missing bank transactions on your end. This can be sorted out by importing the lacking entries using CSV files .

Moreover, the best way to move data is to export them to Excel and import them to the new account. Let me guide you through the steps on how:

  1. In your QBO account, click on the Gear icon.
  2. Select Export Data under Tools.
  3. Choose the data you want to export.

  4. Once ready, click on Export to Excel.

For detailed information, kindly visit: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.

Once they're available in Excel, you can then proceed to import them to the new company file. Here's how:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Import data.
  2. Choose the data/lists you want to import.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

To learn more details about importing data to QuickBooks Online, you can open this article: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, I'll also share this article that can serve as your reference if you want to learn how to fix errors when you move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online: Fix errors when you move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

Why don't you fix data on the QBD file before converting it to a new QBO account?

QBO to QBO Transfer

The original download from QBO to QBDT only transferred 2,500 of more than 4,000 bank tranactions. No way I would manually re-enter these. The 2,500 was a suspicious whole number like there was a limit of some sort.

If there was a way I could just do a bank transaction transfer from QBO to QBDT or QBO to QBO I might have more luck.

I checked with 3rd Party Rewind.com but their backups had to go back to the original QBO account that was backed up.

QBO to QBO Transfer

I appreciate your response to this thread, @Kravdave.

Recognizing that manually re-entering your bank transactions in QuickBooks would be inconvenient for you, let me provide alternative options to assist you.

You may search for third-party applications that integrate well and provide a seamless transfer of transactions in QuickBooks. With that in mind, I suggest you visit the QuickBooks Apps site and look for an app that meets your business needs. You can also do this inside your company by proceeding to the Apps menu on the left panel.

I'm also sharing this resource that will help you understand how your books were moved from QBDT to QBO: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

If I can be of assistance while working in QuickBooks, please let me know. I'd be more than willing to lend you a hand. Keep safe!

I have checked with rewind.com and they use to have a copy facility, but no longer.

Transaction Pro hasn't replied to a query.

Generally it is unhelpful to just suggest you click on some site and examine alternatives. I am looking for someone who has actually done a QBO to QBO migration and how they did it. As stated earlier I did QBO to QBDT and then QBDT to QBO with the problems in bank transfers.

This may have some promise. Would need to delete all data in new QBO bank register first. Then do an Excel extract of the original bank register; create a QBO file; and then import QBO. Not sure how this would affect reconciled data.

I have over 4000 bank transactions. Not practical to use statements. Would need to research more.

RI,

As a QB staffer is there any resource that just lets a QBO existing user move the existing QBO account to an accountant-based bundle of accounts. set up by an accounting firm. Thts would involve no need to go through messy transfers.

Since QB is making it hard to stay on QBDT, I have moved 5 QBDT account data to an Accountant bundle of 5 QBO files; and I want to do the same with two existing QBO accounts. The QBO to QBO should be easy. Why isn't it. Once the move is complete the two old QBO accounts will be discontinued.

I am looking for the equivalent command that basically says:

COPY QBOID#1 to QBO#2

DELETE QBO#1

Live happily everafter!

Rewind only supports for backup restore. The ceased to provide the duplication feature. You can use TP to migrate data between QB files. Another option, consider buying a3rd party migration service.

Does QB have a list of 3rd party migration specialists and any way of verifying their credentials in protecting data and so forth?

Thanks for all your help.
