Join nowPlease help - I am using QB Pro 2017 and it closes (somewhat randomly) with a QBW32.exe error. I have made sure I have all the updates and tried using the file on 2 machines. Only happens on one company file which leads me to believe it is a file issue. Can someone please help!

Thanks for the help and sorry for not responding sooner but I was travelling. I tried but it still didn't solve the issue. Again, the file opens and works for a random time (somewhere between 1 and a few minutes) and then shuts down. This is now a critical issue and appreciate your help.
Hello mjrubin23,
There are a couple of recommended solutions to fix the QBW32.exe error. Let's try some of it as mentioned in the article provided by my colleague above.
Download and run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool (QBInstall Tool). It helps to fix a wide variety of errors that you may receive when opening QuickBooks Desktop.
You can also run a repair on your QuickBooks installation. You will be replacing all damaged installation files of QuickBooks Desktop to fix this issue.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We'll be right here to help.
Thanks - followed the directions but having the same issue where the program randomly closes. I tried using the data on other machines and have the same issue so presume there is a problem with the data set. Can you please help! Urgent!
thanks
Hi there, lisa-b-salvatore,
Thanks for getting back to us and letting us know how the troubleshooting went. Let's get this squared away.
Before doing any troubleshooting steps, please make sure your QuickBooks is updated to the latest release and create a backup copy of your company file. This way we can avoid any accidental data loss.
To get started, let's end all the QuickBooks background files in the Task Manager window. Here's how:
Once done, follow the steps 2 to 5 found in this article to get past the performance issue with your QuickBooks company file: QuickBooks Desktop won't open, has stopped working, or not responding.
However, if you're still getting the same problem after following the recommended steps, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Technical Support Team. There they can review the QBwin.log of your company file to identify what's causing this unexpected behavior.
Please feel free to fill me in on how this goes, lisa-b-salvatore. I want to make sure your concern gets taken care of. Have a good one!
