I am having this problem as well. Intuit - you need to fix this problem especially in light of your new policy to charge people yearly for the same product they used to buy and use for a few years for one payment. Desktop 2019 had no problem crashing and after installing and migrating all my company files to Desktop 2022, it started to crash. One of your stated reasons for charging PER YEAR was that you would have improved customer support. Well, let's see that happen. This thread started in May and no sure fix as of 7/14/2022
Running Windows 10 21H2 with all updates
What I have done to troubleshoot:
Cleaned out temp files
Checked for QB updates (none found)
Installed Tool Hub and ran Quick Fix
Ran QuickBooks program diagnostic tool.
I'm having the same problem

I have disabled the "Show Home page when opening a company file" in Desktop View since ten days now and I did not have QBs to crash since then.
I honestly have had 4 reps work on this with me. I don't have the time to sit on the phone and have them look at the program with me, and ask me to try this, try that, click here, click there, etc.. I just wish Intuit would resolve this matter for everyone involved that is having this problem, which it looks like there are several people dealing with the same issue
I am having the same issue. I am a small accounting/bookkeeping firm with over 40 clients. Every time I open the software I have to go through numerous crashes and till I can get one to stick. Often times even when it stays open, it’s a frozen screen if I navigate towards payroll, I then have to control alt delete to shutdown, and start the process over. I have rebooted, uninstalled - installed, file doctor ect - no results. I came here for the 5th time looking for help. I am now on the 5 reboot for a file that will not stay open for more than 1 minute. I am beyond frustrated.
We are all at that breaking point, i have been looking for alternative programs
How do you disable the show home page upon startup?

I have reported a similar issue which happened during our billing cycle. It was very frustrating and I still have not had a response from your Quickbooks team.
In this thread someone posted this workaround that has worked for me. The crashing has stopped. One time when you get Quickbooks to stay open - go to preferences and uncheck the open to Homepage box. Then save. So it is no longer trying to open the Quickbooks Home page. This has stopped my crashes. If it goes back to crashing - I also have started to look for alternative accounting software. Even though I have been using Quickbooks for 20 years. This problem if not addressed is not workable for my business either. But for now - the unchecking of the Home Page has stopped the crashing. Try that.
Okay. I just spent the last 25 minutes with Quickbooks support and a chat box. They took control of my computer and I followed their cursor. You have to be able to sit and watch and do. What they did was basically "updated Quickbooks to the latest release version".I was in Help/Update QB Desktop/Update now. You need to get QB up and running before you can do this, I think. I have just kept QB up and minimize it at the end of the day. I restarted my computer while they were still on with me and it did not crash. I am hopeful that this worked and it won't crash anymore. Here is the email they just sent me as to how I got to communicate with this support person.

Having the same problem ---
Hi there, Mary914.
Can you tell us more details about your concern? Is there a specific error when QuickBooks is crashing? We're asking these questions to make sure that we will give you the right troubleshooting and information to address the issue.
Please add a reply below to share more details. We look forward to it.
I'm having the same issue. I am using Quickbooks 2022 Pro Plus Desktop, and it crashes at least 2-3 times when I first open it. This has been occurring since the last patch. Please fix.
It sounds like you've been through a test about opening QuickBooks Desktop, Lheidenreich1.
I want to assure you that I'll help you get this fixed. Below are the possible reasons why QuickBooks crashes:
If you haven't already, you can run the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This will run a quick repair on your program. Here's how:
If the problem continues, you can check this article and proceed with other troubleshooting steps to help fix the crashing issue: Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.

None of these things are the problem. It's the latest release of QuickBooks that's the issue, which is clear to many when we read this very long thread of issue reports.
I am having the same issues. Have never had this issue until 2022. Makes it near impossible to work efficiently. You need to fix this!!!
I am an IT person. I was going to disable the home page, but my customer did NOT want the home page disabled. I PERSONALLY would have done that for ME temporarily. I have not seen a comment here that definitively states that this is the "solution" from Intuit. And it wouldn't really be a solution, it would be a workaround! Wouldn't Intuit support tell us that this is their official workaround until they figure things out. I don't take suggestions from users willy-nilly - I came here to get a definitive "we fixed it" and "how to" from Intuit. Plus to complain for my customers (multiple) that are bending my ear.
It has nothing to do with the Company Files. I have customers that have 10 Company Files and each file is having the problem at random times after having been verified/updated to 2022 just a couple months ago. So, let's not blame a corrupt company file.
I understand how beneficial it is to have QuickBooks Desktop running, @jkniew. I'll make it up to you by making sure you get the urgent help you need.
Going back and forth isn't easy, and I know how important time is when running a business. I can also see the importance of having this crashing issue sorted out so you can work smoothly.
To clarify, have you received an error message on your end? This will help me check for any ongoing reports about QuickBooks crashing so I can provide you with the best fix.
May I also know what actions were taken when you encountered the issue? Did you perform the troubleshooting steps outlined by my colleague above? You can also check this link for more details: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.
Since we aren't allowed to access customer's accounts, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Technical Support Team. One of our specialists can use tools like screen sharing and can double-check what’s causing this issue. Please take note of our support hours, so we can address your concerns on time.
Here's how:
Here's an article you can read for more details and troubleshooting steps: What to do if you can't open QuickBooks Desktop.
You can always count on me if you need anything else with accessing or managing your account. I'm always here to address them for you. Take care.
i disabled the home page
I've tried ALL the troubleshooting advice and I continue to have the issue. This is not a computer, hard drive, operating system, firewall, AV problem, it's a software issue. The problem became worse after the last patch.
Instead of delaying the fix by prompting users to jump through hoops when it's been stated by many that nothing fixes the issue, how about fixing the bug in the release?
No warning, no error message, it just shuts down!
Whole program just closes and i have to restart
