Every time I have requested a call, never heard from Intuit. I actually had to call the number for sales to actually speak with someone. Once I finally got connected with tech support the person was very difficult to understand. They said it was a problem with our client's files and were not able to resolve the issue.
What is the status of this issue? I cannot update QuickBooks or download bank transactions until this is resolved. Why is it taking so long to fix this error with QuickBooks?
INV-57616 : Unrecoverable error - when importing accountants changes
IS there an update on this critical error in QuickBooks Desktop Accountants Version 2019? I have seen no update whatsoever. I cannot update my previous transactions or download bank feeds until this is resolved.
INV-57616 : Unrecoverable error - when importing accountants changes
Joining the thread to help with your question about the status of the investigation, Sdud.
It looks like INV-57616 is a duplicate of a previously created investigation (INV-55376) when getting an unrecoverable error while importing accountant's changes. At the moment, our engineers are still working on a permanent fix to resolve the error. In the meantime, you can click the Send button to get past the error and update your Bank Feeds.
You also need to make sure to download the latest maintenance release to apply the patch when it becomes available. Here's an article on how to keep your software updated: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the Latest Release.

I want to make sure I'll be able to provide you the right fix so you'll be able to download your bank transactions.
Were you able to update QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to the latest release? If haven't already, I recommend updating it. This will help install the newest features and patches.
If you have and the issue remains, I suggest running the Verify Rebuild tool. This scans your company file for issues and resolved them right away. Let me show you how.

Please bear with us as we're working to fix this issue. In case you have any other concerns managing your transactions or QuickBooks, let me know in your reply. I'll be more than happy to work with you again.
I am having the same issue in QB2018. I have followed this thread to the end and applied all suggested fixes and updates with no success. I have even uninstalled QB 2020 and QB 2021 in desperation. Still no success.
I have run updates in QB 2018 and QB 2019 multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled QB2018, Run the QB file doctor, QB Tool Hub, and made sure my version of Windows is up to date. I have even asked my client to cancel and re-send the Accountant Copy file.
Other users in my office can open and save transactions to the Accountant copy file, but I can not.
Switching to a new computer within my office is not an option, and I've already wiped and reinstalled everything I can. I'm not looking forward to a hours long phone call to support while they request that I do all these steps again.
When will there be an actual fix to this problem?
Hi Kplank!
Thanks for joining this thread. I also appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've done. Let me assist you and share some updates about this.
Ideally, the steps you've done will fix this error especially since you updated the version of QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. For now, it's best to reach out to our Technical Team so they can further investigate why you still keep on encountering the same behavior.
Follow these steps:
I've added some articles you can check. These will show you how to use the accountant's copy and fix issues:
Keep on posting here if you have other concerns. Take care!
I've updated to the latest version on my 2020, 2021, 2022 versions of QBs
Rebooted my computer multiple times
Still I get kicked out every time I enter any transaction and the transactions entered don't show in the changes to send to client.
Unfortunately, I spent time with customer support and still did not fix this issue. QuickBooks did not own up to the problem and fix it, so we had to use a regular back up and send adjusting journal entries. A lot of time and money.
Do you feel like it was related to a current 2021 update? Seems to me it started happening after an update.
I don't think it was since other client's accountant's copy worked just fine.
This is the second client file that has done this to me in 2021 QBs
I am also experiencing this problem in QBs 2022 with working in an accountant's copy file to make changes. I make a change and get an unrecoverable error 19062 00238 when I click send to tell what I'm doing when this happens I then get 19079 03124 error then click send and get error 19079 03032 then it might update and let me make another change. None of the changes I make are showing up in the accountant's changes to send back to my client.
What else can be done. It appears that this started for me when I initially had a 2021 update. Since it started I've updated 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. I use the accountant's copy file with alot of clients this time of year for tax planning. I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS!!!!
I can see where you're coming from, Susan.
Getting back and forth isn't easy. I wish you didn't have to experience getting error codes when working in QuickBooks Accountant Desktop (QBDT). I'd also like to acknowledge your effort in updating your QBDT to resolve the issue. No worries, let me provide the necessary fixes so you can continue with the tax planning for your clients.
Before we troubleshoot, let's make sure to create a backup of your company file.
First, we can open your company file with a different QBDT user. To do that:
If the new user doesn't resolve the issue, let's create a new Windows admin. If you're using Windows 10 and newer, here's how:
For additional fixes, please see this article: Troubleshoot Unrecoverable Error XXXXX XXXXX.
If the issue persists after performing the suggested steps in the article, I'd recommend reaching out to our customer support. They'll be able to use a screen-sharing tool that will better help you in resolving unrecoverable errors.
In addition, here's an article you can read to know more about the limitations of an accountant's copy in QBDT: Use the Accountant's Copy.
Feel free to reply to this thread if you need additional assistance with getting rid of unrecoverable errors. We'll make sure to address your every concern here in the Community. Stay safe.
Actually, I think I finally did something that resolved my issue. I'm responding here for anyone else that might need to fix this issue for themselves.
I also have 2023 QBDT on my computer. Once I went in and did the update there, clicked on 21, 22, & 23 to run as administrator. Updated each year to the most current update by resetting the update to get them all, I was finally able to make adjustments in the 2021 file that I needed to and also in the 2022 file that makes changes that I can send back to my client. whew!! What an ordeal. I don't understand why 2023 was the thing that everything revolved around to make it work.
Actually I'm still having problems with QBDT Accountant 2021 with the accountant copy files. I've done all the updates I know to do. This all started with a QBDT 2021 update a week or so ago.
Another computer in our office was able to send back accountant changes to the client but today the client called to say they were unable to incorporate our changes. Seems like there is still a glitch with the accountant copy file sending and receiving changes made.
I can confirm that allowing QuickBooks 2023 to install updates (currently at release R3) before opening QuickBooks 2021 (currently at release R12) has fixed this error on multiple computers that previously couldn't edit transactions in an accountant's copy. To see your current release, open QuickBooks (any version) and hit {Control}+{1} to open the Product Information dialog. You should see the product release you have installed indicated at the very top.
Thank you Susanlynnmiller!
I have this problem in QuickBooks 2021 desktop accountant's edition.0I tried every suggested fix and repair. Nothing helped. QuickBooks tech support has told me there is no fix and they have been aware of this for at least one month. I will have to re-do all of my work which was extensive in the clients computer. This is a material problem in the program and should have been quickly resolved.
I had this same cenario happen a few years ago and am now experiencing it again in versions 2021 & 2022. I have tried the steps you posted here but it has not fixed the problem. I have called 2 times and have 2 support cases opened and have uploaded 4 sample files and cannot get a resolution. We are in crunch time with tax return preparation staring us down. We have up to 20 clients that send Accountant's copies each year. Please find a solution ASAP.
Thanks for joining this thread, billmcmahon1949. I appreciate your detailed information.
I've reviewed our investigation (INV-55376) about QuickBooks crashing while trying to import accountant's changes into company files and can confirm the investigation was identified as resolved on May 1st, 2021. The resolution came in the form of a new update.
Since you've confirmed your books are up-to-date with our latest release and have already performed all of the recommended troubleshooting steps in this thread, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team and referencing the investigation's case number (INV-55376).
They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research with you, and work on having the investigation reopened if necessary.
They can be reached while using QuickBooks.
Here's how:
Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.
If there's any questions, I'm just a post away. Have a great day!
