Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2023 Windows 11 crashes constantly

Title says it all, every few minutes it crashes for any reason or no reason.

Windows is up to date, Quickbooks is up to date.

I sure hope Intuit is on this.

I also get disappointed if I experience the same issue, Sheba.

I can see that your operating system (Windows 11) is compatible with QuickBooks. You can also check the system requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2023 article to see if the RAM, processor, disk space and other requirements are compatible with the program.

If all is good, I suggest running QuickBooks Tool Hub to detect and repair several errors.

  1. Close your QBDT, and download the recent version (1.4.0.0) of the  QuickBooks Tool Hub. Please open the file and follow the on-screen steps to install it. Once done, open the tool hub.
  2. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, click Program Problems.
  3. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  4. Please start your QBDT and open your company file.

If the issue persists, I suggest following Solution 2 or 3 from this article: Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.

If you have other QuickBooks concerns, let me know. I'm always here to help. Take care always.

@bathsheba

How big is the file size?

230MB.

(It's not getting any smaller, this is the amount of customers and transactions and history that I have and need. I already had to cut off the first 10 years of my business to avoid the undocumented 14500 customer limit.)

@bathsheba

Try opening the sample file on your machine. Did you encounter the same problem?

I ran all of the ToolHub fixes for program and data file, and rebuilt the data file, it is still crashing.

This happened before in December 2022 and at that time it was fixed by uninstalling QB and all auxiliary programs, reboot, download fresh and reinstall. So I suppose I'll try that next.

Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2023 Windows 11 crashes constantly

I recently upgraded my operating system from Windows 10 to Windows 11, and now I'm experiencing persistent crashes with my QuickBooks software. Despite following all recommended solutions such as using the QuickBooks Tool Hub and executing 'Verify and Rebuild Data' procedures, the issue remains unresolved.

Hi @paula24_myweb ,

I'm sorry to hear that you're facing issues with QuickBooks crashing after upgrading your Windows system. This could be due to various reasons, but here are a few troubleshooting steps that you could try:

  1. Check QuickBooks Compatibility: Ensure your QuickBooks version is compatible with Windows 11. You can check this on the official Intuit website.

  2. Update QuickBooks: Sometimes, having an outdated version can cause compatibility issues. You can check for QuickBooks updates within the software itself or on Intuit's website.

  3. Run QuickBooks as Administrator: This could potentially solve the issue by providing QuickBooks with necessary system permissions. Just right-click on the QuickBooks icon and select 'Run as Administrator'.

  4. Reinstall QuickBooks: If the issue persists, consider reinstalling QuickBooks. Uninstall the software first, and then install it again. This process can often fix any underlying installation errors.

  5. Create a New Windows User Account: If the problem continues, there might be an issue with your Windows user account. Try creating a new account and install QuickBooks under the new user.

If none of these steps work, it would be best to reach out to QuickBooks Support for further help. They have a technical team who can assist with more complex issues.

And remember, always back up your QuickBooks company file before making any significant changes to avoid data loss.

I hope these solutions help resolve your problem. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2023 Windows 11 crashes constantly

We are having the same problem with our upgrade to Quickbooks Enterprise 2024. Half of our computers are windows 10 and half are windows 11. The windows 11 computers won't open the file on the server. After spending 9 HOURS in 2 days with the quickbooks technical support person, I am admitting defeat and just ordered 4 new windows 10 computers. If you notice, all of the tool hub and manager fixes and patches are for windows 10. We did these repeatedly with the technician, re-booted, re-mapped, etc, etc. and nothing. Then the tech said "I think it's a hardware problem and you need to bring in an IT person". Wait, didn't our Quickbooks Premeir Pro 2021 work just fine on our same computer setup? (we are being forced to upgrade because they are stopping payroll if we don't.) I feel like having no new fixes for desktop versions is a push to get everyone to choose the online versions. We have now spent $4,200 for enterprise and $4,000. for new computers. If we didn't need it so bad and there was another option we would definately be changing software but we're stuck and if an employee upgrades their tower to windows 11 they are fired (not really, but still).
