Quickbooks Online now forces customer name (in really bad format with incorrect punctuation) to invoice email cover letters

Aug 2, 3 weeks later, and this is still and issue.  I don't know how "as soon as we can" should take 3+ weeks.  this is RIDICULOUS, and a BIG black eye on Intuit.

Is anyone even working on this?? It did NOT even cross my mind that I would be sending HUNDREDS of unprofessional, embarrassing invoices to clients three weeks after I posted my concern. Seriously ... is anyone working on this? I assume someone at QB cares whether QB customer needs are met (?).  Is there ANYTHING we can do to expedite?

I posted this 7/13/23. I don't think they're even trying. I cringe EVERY time I send an invoice. We look like idiots.

How does one get their attention?? They posted a bunch of canned responses with obvious solutions that would have worked before they changed whatever they changed.

I NEVER give up. But I'm looking elsewhere ... and will be passing this experience along to every professional I know. It never occurred to me that we'd be dealing with it a month later. I'm near certain they're not even working on it now.

mdmason:

Did you happen to have an investigation number? (INV-xxxxxx) I am on the phone with QB now and the tech is trying to see what the fix may have been. TIA

Hey, mdmason ... Sorry I didn't see this earlier!

Three weeks ago, they said it was INV-87997. Yesterday, QB posted that it's INV-91259. It all under my original thread. I don't know why they have different numbers.

Were you able to gain any insight? Any light at the end of the tunnel? (I just assumed they stopped working on it hoping we would go away.)  I am mortified that EVERY invoice I've sent for over a month has had this unprofessional, horrible info/formatting. I can't believe we can't edit it out. Seems like an easy fix from where I'm sitting.

Best of luck to you!

Hi there, @LadyRoxann. We understand that this hasn't been easy on your end. We know how important to format your Invoice message according to what is best before sending it to your customers, and still not being able to achieve this. Right now, let us help you clear things up.

The first investigation INV-87997 is being closed because it's already been resolved. However, a re-investigation is being conducted with INV-91259 since the issue persists, and the resolution on the past investigation isn't working to some users. Know that our engineers are working hard to find the best way to fix it. That's the reason why it's essential reaching out to QBO contact support to review your account and look for the root cause of it.

When the time comes for the issue is being resolved, you can have these articles to help you manage your invoices:

We appreciate your patience with this issue and for always coming back here despite the challenges you're experiencing. Rest assured, we'll do our very best to help you achieve your goal. Please feel free to ask questions here any time of the day, we'll be happy to lend a hand. Thank you, and take care always.

I've used the work around suggested by someone else for now (create invoice while in "online invoice" mode, make sure the credit card and bank pay options are "on" at the top of the invoice, then save the invoice, change invoice mode to "HTML", send email). At least this way there is a payment link and the email looks professional.

I am having the same issue and have contacted QBO moths ago and keep calling them and all they say is that they are working on this. Really? How many months is this going to take to fix? I have to keep sending my clients this invoices?

I am looking to change to someone else at this moment. This problem have created so much stress and extra work for me. QBO is actually getting worse every time they try to change something. Besides the stupid greeting with the wrong punctuation at the end of my invoices says "see you soon" I never see anyone, why should I say that? Is very frustrating.

I'm with you. I give up. I posted about the problem 7/13/23 and keep getting, "Your concerns are important to us," with entry level, canned solutions (which would have been the very first thing I checked and corrected).

I keep saying it's embarrassing. That's an understatement. I send hundreds of invoices per day and literally *cringe* every time I have to send. I would explain that it's a QB problem to our clients, but they wouldn't see my note anyway. They have to scroll down past all the nonsense QB has auto-added, etc. This has been my top priority, so I haven't bothered to complain that all of the QB product logos are transmitted in each invoice larger than MY company's logo now. I'm paying QB to market their own products.

I hope things improve for you soon. As soon as I can come up for air, I'm replacing QB within something more reliable and consumer friendly.

They finally fixed the invoices (gratefully), now QB is automatically added DAILY late fees to client invoices. One, which was paid in full, just had seven late fees added and emailed to the client. I give up. I'm off to find different accounting software.
