I am a 15+ years Quickbooks user too and am considering to move to Xero. Any thoughts?

Want huge price increases with absolutely the minimum amount of fixes done? Then switch to QB desktop! Now with subscription fees! Now we make you pay ad infinitum for a product with barely any development resources being allotted.

@vincesocal
What's holding you back? You can purchase a 3rd party conversion service, especially if you need to migrate attachments and multicurrency transactions.

You can still buy the one time license for QBD 2021 or QBD 2022 Accountant.
Yep. It was a final straw yesterday when I tried to do payroll on QB Desktop (still have it until April 22) and it stopped working because the desktop subscription is expired. In the past, I still can use QB Desktop even subcription is expired since subcription gives you new upgrades. I sometimes do not need new QB version so only keep payroll. Spent 1 hour on the phone try to reason with them. The rep, Iva, kept telling me to renew QB Desktop in order to use payroll while I am still eligible to use payroll until April 22! Then she went silence and ignored me patiently until I had to hang up. Very nice Intuit!
there is nothing hold me back now. I am done with QB.
not one time license anymore. see my other comment.

Unfortunately I've been using rightnetworks cloud hosting since 2015 so I'm on a perpetual subscription already.

Are you using QB Desktop Enterprise? You can still downgrade it to QB Desktop Pro/Premier.
QB Desktop is just as pricey. Goto Freshbooks and other accounting software
I am very frustrated with the huge price increase with QB!!!! We are a small business and only use the system to keep track of our customers, do not use it for any banking or payments to or from customers. My cost is now $349.99 for the year!!!!!! This is highway robbery! Are there not options for smalll business users????

You are using QB Desktop 2021 Pro Plus for a single user, correct? You can still purchase a new one time license for QB Desktop 2021 Pro from some partners if required.
Mine has gone up 92% per month, in one year. I am leaving in a few months once i have my other system set up. spoke to someone from quickbooks for about 40 minutes a few weeks ago and they did not answer my question properly about the crazy increase.
They said it was to do with updates etc. I mentioned Intuit has a revenue of $10 billion per year, small businesses have been struggling the last 2 years and now hit by this BS increase. I was mad, still am.
Jan 2021 $67.80
Jan 2022 $132.21
Sorry 95% increase.
Just to clarify. Where is your company located? I am not sure you are using QBO US version.
Quickbooks desktop, Canada.
If you are not upgraded your version to QBD 2022, consider purchasing the one time (outright) license for QBD 2021.
I am on 2022. I also have payroll
Price has increased again… will be leaving. No notification, no justification, no explaination. Better options out there for sure. Lower the rates to the original price we agreed to or I leave

How much is your bill now?
Hello Highly pissed off,
