Hello! I am trying to choose between QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop. For anyone that has experience with an accountant that uses Desktop - does your Online version sync well with their Desktop version? My accountant expressed concern that the two do not meld well together and I do not want to get the Online version if information will not easily be shared between the two. Any thoughts? Thanks!
I don't have direct experience to answer your question, but the experience I do have may help. My client base is made up of small businesses, including several accountants / small accounting firms. All of them use QuickBooks and none of them has ever found the online version to be adequate. Like them I use QuickBooks and considered the online version as Intuit pushes it aggressively. QOL simply does not have the features I need for even my very small business. If you want to do proper bookkeeping for even a small business, I recommend one of the Desktop versions.
Thanks for your input and feedback. It seems like the desktop version is the way to go. Have a good weekend!
You can still purchase QB Desktop 2021 with the one time license if required. Then setup a simple private cloud environment if you need to access the data over the internet.
Quick books online has a software issue when you go into the charts of account and go down to the PST is is under detail type as GST which has caused myself a lot of issues. Plus quick boos desk top is a lot cheaper especially is you have payroll.
Good to know! Thank you!
We use QB desktop enterprise. While my CPA and bookkeeper thinks it does things in a wacky, convoluted manner sometimes, we need the advanced inventory portion (which we pay out the nose for).

Really? Where? I've been unable to find any non-subscription license for any version of QB.
Which one do you need?
QB Desktop 2021 US Pro?
QB Desktop 2021 US Premier?
QB Desktop 2021 US (Premier) Accountant?
QB Desktop 2022 US (Premier) Accountant?
We may help to provide those one time license as long as their supplies lasts. Contact us in private for details.

Since our QuickBooks Desktop Plans & Pricing page only shows the 2022 versions, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team to guide you in purchasing the 2021 product.
