If you have an annual plan and created a backup before canceling QuickBooks Desktop, you can download our 30-day trial version.

 

After installing the trial, make sure you have your backup company file ready. If it's on an external device like a USB drive, move it to your computer's local hard drive. Once done, here's how to restore your copy in the trial.

 

  1. Within QuickBooks, navigate to the File menu and choose the option Open or Restore Company.

  2. Pick Restore a backup copy and proceed by clicking Next.

  3.  Choose Local Backup and then click Next
  4. Search your computer for the backup company file, which should have a format like this: [Your company name].qbb
  5. Select a destination folder to determine where you want to save your restored company file, and then click Open.
  6. Then, hit Save to proceed.

Which QB Desktop year version did you use? You can use the trial version for good with a workaround.

You do not need an active subscription to view your file and even edit data.

You should be able to just open your file and use it.

 

Is there anything else that doesn't work for you?
