Buy nowI am looking for recommendations for the best/fastest laptop to run multiple versions of Accountant Desktop. My last 2 laptops have been Lenovo and while they have been purchased with the max RAM, I still have not had the experience I have been looking for. I tried a Mac, love it as a laptop but not for QuickBooks. I am a multi-tasker and have several programs open at all times during the day. Typically 3 versions of QuickBooks, multiple spreadsheets, adobe files, web browsers etc.
In your case, you should avoid ultra portable types. I would recommend now is the time to explore any recommendations for playing games that use powerful processors and high memory. You'll have to accept the extra weight of the notebook to get better performance. Then make sure to use Windows 11 Home to run QB Desktop. I found that Home was friendlier to run older versions than Pro.

QuickBooks Desktop 2024 requires a 64-bit Windows operating system and won't run on 32-bit. Your processor will need to be 2.4 GHz at minimum, and RAM for workstations is 5 GB minimum, although 16 GB is recommended.

For the best performance, I'd recommend storing your QuickBooks data file on a solid-state drive (SSD).
If you're using a Windows computer, you'll need to make sure you're using the North American version of Windows and that its regional settings are supported when set to English language. Administrator rights are required for your server computer when hosting multi-user access. Windows must also be natively installed and run without the assistance of a virtual environment or emulation software.
