Reconciled checks

When I view a check ( or bill pay check) I do not see ON THE CHECK (not the register) that it was cleared.

In other versions of QB I see a check mark (ON THE CHECK not the register) and some with the date it was reconciled.

How do I change this preference?

Reconciled checks

Hi there, @momof3eees.

I can see you’re looking for a way to see the reconciliation status directly on the check in QuickBooks Online. I'm here to provide you information about this and how to achieve it.

Currently, QBO doesn’t display a reconciliation checkmark or cleared status directly on the check detail view, as this information is primarily visible in the register or reconciliation reports. While there isn’t a preference setting to adjust this view, you can always verify a check’s reconciliation status by reviewing the account register or by running a reconciliation report for detailed tracking.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the account where the transaction belong.
  3. Find the transaction. You'll see the reconciliation status of the transaction in the ✔ column.
    • R means reconciled.
    • C means cleared.
    • blank means unreconciled.

Moreover, you can also consider checking out this article to learn how to make changes to the accounts you've previously reconciled: Fix issues for accounts you've reconciled in the past in QuickBooks Online.
