Join nowI had restored a clients Quickbooks file onto their desktop from a portable device. Unfortunately, he opened an older file and started to work within it. Is there a way I can merge the two files so I don't have to go back and recreate what he just did?
I have both of the files backed up onto my portable device.
What is the best way to transfer work that I have done on his file and put it on his desktop version without losing what I have done or having him work in an incorrect file.

It's nice to have you here, @Kimberly74,
We're currently unable to merge data from multiple company files. To correct the book balance without recreating the transactions on the original QuickBooks profile, import them manually.
Here's how:
Please note that you need to be in a Single User Mode to accomplish this task.
See this article for the sample IIF files you can import: IIF Overview: import kit, sample files, and headers.
To know more about importing and exporting Intuit Interchange Format (IIF) files to and from QuickBooks Desktop, check out this article: Export, import, and edit IIF files.
