Hello. I have a Custom Field added for Sales Rep that is supposed to show up on all Sales forms, including Invoices. (When I click the Gear>>Custom Fields list, the Sales Rep field is checked for all Sales forms.) It displays on the Sales Receipt form but on on the Invoice form. Can anyone help me troubleshoot why this might be the case? I added the field per this article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/reports-and-accounting/sales-by-rep/01/869364#M122...
Thanks very much.
Hello there, @nschlag. I'm here to share some details about why custom field won't display on Invoices.
Custom fields allow you to keep track of the data that is most important to you and your customers.
Since the customized field is unable to be displayed on the invoice. You can add a custom field from the invoice page. It will directly show on the invoice.
Here's how:
You can also refer to this article for more details about custom fields in QuickBooks Online.
I'd also recommend submitting feedback to our product developers about this functionality, which allows you to add a customized field to the invoice page and have it appear in the invoice page automatically once you've added it to the custom field page.
Here's how:

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, that doesn't work. At least for me in QBO, the Gear icon on the Invoice page doesn't allow you to add new fields. All it does is allow you to manage the layout of the invoice page, change which elements appear, change the appearance, etc. The Sales Rep field is not one of the options here, nor can you add any custom field.
Thank you for all the details, @nschlag. I'm determined to help you make this custom field work.
You may have accumulated too much historical data stored in your browser. It can usually result in issues like missing fields or buttons. We can perform basic troubleshooting to resolve it. First, let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:
Log in to your account and open the invoice form. If the Sales Rep field is there, I'd recommend clearing your browser's cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browser to see if it has something to do with it.
Here are some resources that you can read and learn more about creating your own custom fields:

Thanks for your response. I have opened my account in an incognito window, but there is still no custom Sales Rep field showing up on the Invoice form. And there is no way to add custom fields from the Gear icon within an Invoice field. I can add custom fields from the main Gear icon, but Sales Rep has already been added there, and it is checked to show up on all Sales fields, including Invoices. But it does not show up.
You're welcome, @nschlag.
