Intuit has lost their focus and forgotten they are a mission critical accounting system first. If someone comes up with a worthy competitor, they will eat their lunch unless they return to their core users needs which are reliability, functionality and efficiency. Forget all the glitz, web enabled garbage and constant fees and advertising to us.
Yes I am with you!! What a joke telling us we have to use our phones to scan! I am so disappointed with Quick Books doing this. I will not consider updating until they change back to using our scanners! Actually I am considering finding another company for my accounting.
I've been on that hunt for years. This is, unfortunately, the best of the worst...
My mobile app stopped working with QB in November and no one can seem to get the issue corrected. I have been on multiple LONG chats with QB and always get disconnected after about an hour and have to start over with at new person. I work in my office and remotely so not having access to scanned documents is a huge problem.
If you use Quickbooks for payroll, you'll be FORCED to upgrade. Then you'll be FORCED to pay a monthly subscription fee instead of buying the package. Then you'll discover that some of the most important and time saving features were discontinued in the new versions.
But you can't go back. If you cancel your monthly subscription - you loose access to all your data. It's still there, you just can't access it any more.
Big Brother has taken control of your company.
Enjoy.
Let us know when you find a new program. I'm also looking. These changes are a joke.
Support is a joke. They talk in circles, read from scripts and tell you there's nothing that can be done.
Yes and getting worse. Not only do they do not know the answers they hang up on you...don't know the
answer just hang up! Problems solved. You can bet I fill out those "how did I do" questionaires too!
I have just bought an add-on software to scan directly into QB, so far so good.
What add on software did you purchase and how much is it?
Well folks, I agree that QB discontinuing the scan manager has been hard to swallow. I have sent many complaints but this company will not budge. The only way we can attach documents to invoices, bills ect. is to scan and save into your computer then make an attachment to your document. It is a pain in the xxx and it takes much longer but there is no other alternative unless you use your cell phone (which is a joke.) If you find a scanning software program that can scan directly into QB, let us know please.
Beyond PO'd about this. Not only I am forced to upgrade to a inferior product so my payroll will work. The price went up like 7 times what it was for a product that does less. You clearly have no idea who your customers are and what they want.
I have been using quickbooks since 2009 for all my businesses and I agree this is a huge disappointment. Every desk of ours have Fujitus fi-7160 scanners for attaching invoices into QuickBooks that now I'm at lost. I have spend over $4,000 on scanners I cannot use until QuickBooks fix this huge mistake. If this does not get resolved I will be forced to look for another accounting system. We are going backwards in this world. How are we going to use cell phones to scan documents. This is such crazy and very upsetting.
QuickBooks What Have You Done???!!!! No scanning in Enterprise Solutions desktop? Really? First you want everyone to move to online, which really doesn't do half of what you need it to do, mainly retrieving previously scanned items. And now there is NO way to attach a document scanner to the desktop version of enterprise Solutions Non-profit 24.0? We have to go thru our computer file, an added step or 2 to get the job done? not very time efficient! Been using QuickBooks for over 25 years, this is ridiculous!!! Start catering to your longtime valued customers and listen to their difficulties using this "new" QB way. We have years of experience using your products and now a new generation is trying to change everything in QB to make it what? Easier? Ha! Try again!
Well said!!! I have been a customer also for over 25 years and was forced to update to Desktop 2024! I can scan but also had to add 3 steps in order to scan and attach a bill of lading to my invoice! I have complained over and over but to no avail.
Scan Manager was discontinued because the company who supplied the scanning software, Nuance, sold to Microsoft. Apparently, Intuit did not want to pay Microsoft so they came up with this brillant idea that taking pictures of our 100's to 1000's of documents was a good alternative. As we all know, this is a horrible alternative. I imagine, Intuit saved a ton of money by discontinuing scan manager but for some odd reason, our monthly premiums keep increasing. They do not care that we are upset about the discontinued scan manager. They know we have the work around (even though it takes a lot more time.) The CEO of Intuit did an interview with Forbes magazine. One of his priority concerns is payroll cost. He doesn't care how much time he added to our jobs. Shame on him for not caring about his customers.
Profit driven with little regard for the customer anymore. Sad thing is, we can't find anything that does it better yet, but are looking. Most of our peers are moving to industry specific programs and using QB for basic accounting now. Even my accounting is fed up with QB and the lack of support and quality while prices constantly rise. A disrupter in that industry will wipe QB out if they get it right.
