Schedule database backup single user mode

Looking at the method to schedule backups (Back up your QuickBooks Desktop company file), it requires changing to single user mode. Does Quickbooks need to remain in single user mode to conduct the scheduled backups, or can it be switched back to multi-user mode after the schedule is configured?

Schedule database backup single user mode

In QuickBooks Desktop, you don't need to remain in a single-user mode after setting up a scheduled backup, @ajkelsey.

After setting up scheduled back-ups, you can manually revert to multi-user mode.

Here's how:

  1. Go to File.
  2. Tap Switch to Multi-user Mode.
  3. Click Yes to confirm.

On the scheduled date, ensure no other user is accessing the file to complete the backup process.

Here is an article about backing up your files: Back up your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
