Shipping Cost & Estimated Delivery Date

Hi Everyone!  Thank you for doing what you do, you've been very helpful.

My question is:  We've learned how to ship order in QuickBooks.  Once we do that it gives us the tracking information.  However, since we're a 3PL, we'd also like to know the shipping cost and estimated delivery date so we can pass that onto our customer and they can pass it onto their customer.  Is that an option?

Glad to have you here in the Community, @Dytrt.

Allow me to take over and help you add a column in the estimate for the ship date and cost in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Customers menu, and then choose to Create Estimates.
  2. Click the Formatting tab, and then Customize Data Layout.
  3. Go to the Columns tab.
  4. Select Other 1 and rename it to Ship Date. Make sure the Screen and Print option is selected.
  5. Click Other 2, and then enter a Title Shipping cost.
  6. Hit OK.

You may find this article helpful: Use and customize form templates.

Once done, run a report to see the information. We have some articles that explain more on how you can pull up a certain report:

Please let me know if you need anything else. I'll be here to help you some more.
