Hey there, @newyorktutor.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Community for support.

Although being able to re-order the side menu in QuickBooks Online would be handy, we aren't able to do so. However, I have personally submitted a feedback request to our Product Development Team,  so this can be considered in a future update.

You can follow all of our latest happenings and future updates by using our Blog Site

Please let me know in the comments if there is anything else that I can do for you. Until then, have a great weekend!

My products are starting to pile up on category pages. I would like to add some sort of (can't think of the correct wording right now) filter or sorting so customers can break down the products INSIDE a category by a key word or tag.

Is there a video or walk through on how to properly tag and set up your products? Maybe I am doing it all wrong.

Is there one for the menu also? Maybe I need to start there. Things are starting to get a bit messy.

Any insite on this would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, @Kautzer.

Making sure you'll be able to perform your QuickBooks Online (QBO) tasks is our priority. To help you with this, you can open the Sales by Product/Service Detail report and sort it by Customer

Let me guide you on how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. From the search field, enter Sales by Product/Service Detail.
  3. Click the report to open.
  4. Select the Sort dropdown.
  5. In the Sort by field, choose Customer.

Then, to further help you set up your product and service items in QBO, check out this link: Add product and service items to QuickBooks Online.

Also, QBO makes it easy to track those items you buy or sell. To do this, you can run whichever inventory reports you'd need. To get started, please visit this page: Use reports to see your sales and inventory status.

If you have further questions about setting up your products in QBO, please post a reply below. I'm always around to help. Have a good one.

Yep, this really needs to be done. The side bar is in no logical order that I can see. Alpha order would be nice.

Hi there, @HDMer

I can see the importance of getting the QuickBooks Online (QBO) side-bar menus to be arranged alphabetically. At this time, the system has default arrangements, and reordering them is currently unavailable. However, you can always share your feedback or request about this feature with our engineering team. Rest assured they're working nonstop to enhance the product and deliver the best experiences for all QuickBooks users.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then select Next to submit feedback.

Your valuable feedback goes to our Product Development Team to help improve your experience in QBO.

Additionally, you can get more resources while working with QuickBooks in the future from this link: QuickBooks Online Help articles.

This whole online system is so clunky for an intuitive or accounting type to use.

First popups that I can not get to stop.

Now I can not reorg the side menu.

I may just go back to desktop, so much more intuitive.
