Team User Roles "Standard No Access with Account Management" in QBOA is broken

The team user role "Standard No Access with Account Management" is broken in QBOA. It does not allow me to assign team members this role, which is very important. Not being able to use this team role has created huge challenges in our firm because it means that leads cannot assign clients to their team members without giving the leads admin access of the books (which is outside their scope). This limits the ability to assign roles only to admins, which is not productive. Please look into this. We've submitted this issue for months now without any update and repeatedly being told that this role is not for QBOA but for QBO subscriptions (which makes no sense bc it is listed under QBOA team roles and the definition does not apply to anything related to what clients would be using).

Team User Roles "Standard No Access with Account Management" in QBOA is broken

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns in such detail with the QuickBooks Online Community, Corry.

I can see how the option to assign a team user the role "Standard No Access with Account Management" can benefit you and your business. However, the feature that allows you to do so is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA). That said, I recommend sending feedback so our product engineers can take note of the need for this functionality and consider adding it in future updates.

Here's how to send feedback:

  1. Head to the gear icon.
  2. Under Profile, select Feedback.
  3. Enter your product suggestions.
  4. Click Next to submit.

In the meantime, you can refer to this article for more info on the different options for access permissions: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

For future use, here's a guide on how to get an audit trail of the activities each user does for your company: Use the audit log.

Come back to the Community if you have other concerns about user permissions in QuickBooks. The Community always has your back, Corry. Take care always!

Team User Roles "Standard No Access with Account Management" in QBOA is broken

That response makes no sense since it is listed as an option in the custom team roles, as indicated in the screenshot I attached in the original ticket and the one with this reply. These new firm roles were released in QBO Accountant 7 months ago and is broken.

QB own article announcing the update here:
https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/manage-users/manage-custom-firm-roles...

As noted in my original post, I have reached out to support repeatedly and have submitted feedback repeatedly also. This is an existing feature that is broken. Why is support not interested in fixing the broken parts of the platform?

This feature was released 7 months ago. Here is the link to see the QB Product release notes: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/manage-users/manage-custom-firm-roles...

As shown in the first screenshot that I posted with the original question, it has already been released and is broken. Here is another screenshot of it being explained in the help section of the firm user roles.

I have reached out to support several times over the past few months and submitted feedback repeatedly. Why is support not interested in fixing a broken feature?

This firm user role was release over 7 months ago! This is common knowledge and here is the link to the product release from your own support channels:
https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/manage-users/manage-custom-firm-roles...

I have spent hours on the phone with support and submitted feedback repeatedly, constantly being told that this firm user role doesn't exist, but as you can see in the original screenshot that I posted along with this one, it is available!

In the meantime, you can refer to this article for more info on the different options for access permissions: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

These user roles are for business subscription users, not accountants. I have attached a screenshot of the QBO Accountant firm user roles available. Firm user roles are different from client user roles.

For future use, here's a guide on how to get an audit trail of the activities each user does for your company: Use the audit log.

What firm owner has the time to review the audit log constantly while navigating a large team? And it isn't necessary because the firm user role is available.

Why is support not interested in fixing this major issue?

Team User Roles "Standard No Access with Account Management" in QBOA is broken

As noted in both my original post and in my initial reply, I have submitted it repeatedly through technical support and feedback. I have literally spent dozens of hours trying to resolve this. Why will nobody actually investigate it or find a solution?

Team User Roles "Standard No Access with Account Management" in QBOA is broken

I acknowledge all the time and effort you've put into resolving the issue with the Standard No Access with Account Management function, Corry.

I can see that the user type and role used to be accessible in QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA). However, this functionality has been disabled and is no longer available from the access level drop-down. You can submit requests to our engineers to reintroduce this feature into the online program so they'll consider it in future releases

To submit feedback, I still recommend following the steps provided by @AnneMariee. Visit the QuickBooks Blog to explore the latest product updates, features, and improvements from our developers, as well as expert tips to support the growth of your business.
