I'm using MAC desktop, not windows, thanks for the article but it's of no use to me because it's Windows.
Thanks for getting back to us, @vesnaBesna. Just to confirm, are you using pre-printed check stocks from QuickBooks?
Since you've mentioned that this problem occurs after updating your software and that you can only print other forms except for checks. I can confirm that this is a printer-related issue.
At this point, I'd recommend you contact your printer Customer Support so they can help you configure your printer settings so they can provide you great details of instructions to get past the error you're getting.
Please update us here on the outcome, @vesnaBesna. I want to make sure you're taken cared of.
thank you, but your answer is unsatisfactory because it's highly unlikely that my printer is the problem; it works fine for everything EXCEPT QB checks. It's a bug in your update: I do not even get a print dialog box, when I ask QB to print checks, select checks to print, click on PRINT, it hangs on "preparing job for printing" and never gets to the print dialog box. I've also tried printing an individual checks and the same thing happens.
Glad to have you back, @vesnaBesna,
There are a few reasons why some transactions won't print on the company file. Consider the following:
To correct this, I would recommend contacting our QuickBooks for Mac Technical Team. They can run some diagnostics on the company file to help verify what's causing this unexpected hitch.

Try holding down the option key when you choose "Print" from the menu or button. Keep holding the option key down as you click on the print buttons that come up in dialogs. The option key clears some internal print settings.
If that doesn't work, try deleting the QuickBooks Preferences:
Quit QB
Hold down the option key and choose Go->Library in the Finder
Find the Preferences folder in the Library window and double click on it.
Drag the com.intuit.quickbooks20XX.plist files to the trash (where XX is the year of QuickBooks - for instance com intuit.quickbooks2020.plist). Delete all of them.
Launch QuickBooks and see if the problem is gone.
If you've used a Signature in the past and have deleted it that might be the issue. Try attaching another signature in QuickBooks->Preferences.
