I have been using the new Square app to sync Square purchases with QBO. I added a new Square location last week, but the list of locations in the QBO Square App Settings Locations list does not show the new location. In addition, there appears to be no way to add the location to that list. In addition to that, sales from the new location are not getting imported into Square.
Hello, @tjohnson15.I'll show you how to update the location in the Square app within QuickBooks Online.
Another option is to manually enter the location. After that, see if it's already synced with QuickBooks.
If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our technical support team, as they'll be able to help you with any issues you may have.
Here's how:
Please note that our support team is available M-F from 6 AM to 6 PM PT and on Saturday from 6 AM to 3 PM PT.
Check out this page for more information on importing Square sales data into QuickBooks Online: Sync Square with QuickBooks Online.
Furthermore, I added this article about reconciling an account in QuickBooks Online.
Please let me know your thoughts on this matter. I am happy to support you.
You didn't actually tell me how to update the location. Also, the link above is broken and no longer points to a page. The only help I've found on the Connect to Square App tells you how to set it up the first time, not how to update locations once you have it set up and have been using it.
I can help you figure this out, tjohnson15.
The integration between QuickBooks Online and Sync with Square has current limitations. I've listed them down below:
Square can connect to only one location at a time, you need to reconnect to it each time you wish to change locations. To ensure the correct mapping of data including the locations, it's best to seek some help from Commerce Sync. They'll be able to walk you through the steps in linking your Square account to QuickBooks Online.
Go to the Apps menu, then search and select Square by Commerce Sync. You'll see their contact details in the Contact and Support section.
If you wish to know the default account and names that you can use or choose from after setting up your account in Square, you can refer to this article: Sync with Square - Default Accounts and Names.
As always, I'm here to answer all your concerns, tjohnson15. Come back to me at any time. Have a great day.
The web page for the Connect to Square App says it supports multiple locations. It does indeed do this with separate settings for each location. I'm not sure why no one can tell me how to get QBO/Square to import and why there is no documentation on how to do it. There are videos on setting the app up, but nothing for after the fact.
Square by Commerce Sync wants $10 per location and I have many locations in Square because we are mobile pop-up. As a result, I use classes in QBO, but that means I have to pay $80 a month for QBO. Now add on $10 a month per location and since we only do 2-3 different locations per month, we are priced out of QBO. $80 for QBO just to use 2 classes is already too high for us.
As a result of these issues and a number of other QBO issues, I'm just going to have to shop for a different accounting software or use a spreadsheet.
We are in the same position. The suggestion from QB to use Commerce Sync is ridiculous for mobile businesses. QBO just announced another increase in price, yet they can't fix their built-in Square import. Or I should say they won't fix it. I don't think they care about small businesses. I suspect that they care only about extracting as much money as possible from us.
