Welcome aboard to the Online Community, JuliesABCs.
I’m happy to know the conversion process went seamlessly. With your company all set up and ready, let's get you started with QuickBooks Online.
Before proceeding, let’s run the Profit and Loss Report to double-check the accuracy of the imported data. Aside from that, open the Balance Sheet Accrual method for all dates.
Make sure to do this for both programs (desktop and online) and compare your balances to make sure they match. Here’s how to access these reports.
Now, go back to your QBDT company file and pull up the same reports and compare the data. If they don’t match, check out this article to know what doesn’t come over when you transfer from QBDT to QBO: What to expect when you switch from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
To complete your records, manually enter the transactions in the online version. There are several ways on how to input these entries.
You can do it by clicking the New (+) menu or through the register. Here’s how:
If you want to enter a transaction directly to the register, please follow these steps:
After recording them, you can now start preparing the online company file. For the step by step process, the following guide will walk you through the process: Resources for getting started with QuickBooks Online.
I’m also adding a link containing tutorials to help new users get acclimated with the product: Video tutorials.
Let me know if you need further assistance while working in QuickBooks. I’m more than happy to help and make sure you’re taken care of. Enjoy the rest of the day.
Thank you so much for the step by step ,
I will definitely keep you in mind if I need more details or help.
It is much appreciated
Rasa-LilaM,
Can you please tell me the next steps I should take . My client is not ready to be using the Online version of Quickbooks but he got all the files transferred to the online version from the desktop version already with help of the Data Service team . He has a trial balance of April 16th 2020 from the migration .
How can I transfer the proper files once he is ready to start utilizing the Online version . Do I get Data Service to help again or do I just transfer the file that has a back up of April 17th whenever he is ready.
Example: Transfer files from April 17th to May 8th .
If you need more information please let me know I can explain more .
thank you

Once we send a file over to our data services team and something isn't coming back correctly, it's usually best to coordinate with the data services team to let them know what's incorrect. This way, you can send your file back over to them for them to resolve for you.
If you have any trouble, please let us know, and we'll be here to help you out every step of the way. You can always reach back out to the Community or me anytime you feel you need assistance. Take care and enjoy the day!
