I sent an email to my clients 2 months ago saying that I would have to start cherging them a portion of my subscription fee or they would have to start subscribing to QBO. I can get them a discount. All my QB clients had their own desktop versions years ago. Over time all their data files were moved to my desktop version. They can't use their older versions. I can't get any good info from Intuit on what desktop products will be out and what the subscription fees are. I just did a search yesterday for QuickBooks 2024 and someone had written that Sep 20, 2024 will be the release date for the 2024 product. I didn't write a typo about the date. The author apparently did. I just did a search before writing this and can't get any info. When I log onto my 2023 product, I don't get any alert about the new available subscription. I've been using QB products since 1996 and this customer service sucks! I'm just venting.
This isn't new. Traditionally Intuit never pre-releases products, or only announces the release date once it is known for sure that the product is done and being produced.
I expect that date is very wrong, by a year, and that QB 2024 will appear in September 2023.
I know the date is wrong. I mentioned that in my post.
QuickBooks 2024 will be released on 10/3/2023 and Intuit is once again significantly increasing the cost - https://www.firmofthefuture.com/product-update/quickbooks-desktop-pricing-changes/
Unbelievable! QB Pro 2020 was less than $300 and lasted for 3 years. That's $100/yr. Now it will be $649/yr! We're subscribers. Why don't they tell us directly about the rate increases? (That's just a rhetorical question. No need to answer).
If you only need to run QB Desktop for one user, you can use the trial version for good if needed.
Thanks for the reply. Until I get a message when I use QB Desktop Pro Plus 2023 that I can no longer use my current version, I won't do anything.
Log in to your CAMPS and you will find the expiration date of your license.
CAMPS?
Thanks. My acct doesn't show my subscription to QB Pro Plus 2023 because I purchased it from Etsy in March. The seller sent me the licence info so I could legally use it. At that time the 2023 version had been available for 6 months, so that's probably why I got a discount.
If possible, you should contact the seller immediately and ask the seller to transfer the Primary Contact to your end. Otherwise, don't be surprised if you can't run your QB program without notification. The seller can offer the same license code to other buyers. But don't worry, you can use the trial version to open your file as a workaround.
I'm only one user but have 3 different company files for my clients.
You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2023 Enterprise for good to manage those company files.
Thanks, but that's only for 30 days. I'll suck it up and pay the $649. I'll cut some other expenses that aren't yielding any results and maybe charge my clients a cost sharing fee. They all used to have their own version. That stopped years ago. I sent them an email about this a few months ago.
but that's only for 30 days
You can use it for good with a workaround. Contact me in private for details.
Here it is Sept 26 and I still can't find a release date. Someone in the thread said Oct 3, could be true. Kind of late for them, I think - seems like it's always been in Sept. But yea, still can't find it anywhere. And camps doesn't have 2024 showing up yet (my subscription has nothing to do with when the new release will be available). If anyone has a link to actually show the date, that would be great.
Intuit has become a monopoly, completely abandoning the interests of the consumer pushing an inferior product, poorly supported. It's all about the money.
Now a days every business is trying to go cloud base and offers SaaS model even if it doesn't make sense to the consumer. I had a portable scanner called neat Receipt. It was great to scan business cards, business expense receipts and maintained a database on my computer. They chose to go on Cloud and have Software as service option charging 10 times a year than what I had paid for the product. Trying to tell me my data will be in clouds and I can excess it from anywhere. Do I need to access it from anywhere? No. But it's their way or highway.
If you don't renew your license when it expires it will open in "pay or view-only" mode and you will only be able to run reports (which you can't memorize) for a year. You won't be able to open additional companies.
From Intuit:
You can view reports, but can’t create any transactions. We recommend you export your data before you cancel your subscription.
