Join nowHow do I update my Quickbooks file at work, if I have done work from home?
You have a few options and some depend on who else uses the file.
If you alone use the file and you are working on a version opened and saved at home that contains every prior thing from work, create a backup to removable media. At work restore from the backup.
In anticipation of this you also can work with a portable file that contains data but not your attachments and notes.
You could leave the company file at work and if that computer stays on, access it with a remote desktop app. You do not even have to install QB at home. You just need an app like Splashtop and access through your work firewall.
You could pay Intuit to host your company file in the cloud.
There has also been success reported setting up your own hosting with Microsoft Azure.
Utilize a cloud storage (e.g GDrive) to secure your backup file and download it to any computer and continue your works. As another option, explore this remote desktop app to access your office computer from home.

Hi John,
Thank you so much for your help, I truly appreciate it.
You gave me things to think about down the road.
For now, I have installed QB on my home laptop and have been just using a flash drive to restore the company files on the work computer.
Thanks so much!
