Reclassify expense to credit card expense

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, @BK59. Allow me to provide insights into reclassifying an expense transaction to a credit card expense in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you're referring to modifying the transaction type, currently, this is not an option in QBO. However, if you need to change the account type under the Category details, you can do so by following the steps outlined below.

  1. Go to Expenses and click Expenses.
  2. Select the specific transaction.
  3. Under the Category details section, choose the appropriate account.
  4. Click Save and Close.

You can also utilize the Reclassify Transactions tool to streamline the process of reclassifying multiple transactions. However, please note that this feature is only available in QBO Advanced and QBO Accountant subscriptions.

Additionally, QBO provides comprehensive reports to offer insights into various aspects of your business, including expenses.

Keep in touch if you have other concerns about reclassifying transactions in QBO. The Community is here to help you throughout the way. Stay safe.
