Reconciliation

I missed two transactions on a past reconciliation how do I add them? I reconciled them in the bank register. Not sure what the next step is as it’s telling me that my beginning balance is off. Any help would be appreciated as I would like to move on to the next months reconciliation. Thanks!

Reconciliation

I've got your back, @Lisamt. I'm thrilled to assist you with addressing your concern about adding a transaction to a completed bank reconciliation in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To fix your previous reconciliation, you'll have to undo it and include the missing transactions in it. You can request assistance from your accountant to undo an entire bank reconciliation using their QBO Accountant software. Here's an article for the steps on how they can do it efficiently: Undo your client's reconciliations with QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Otherwise, you can follow these steps to undo reconciled transactions one at a time if you prefer to do it yourself:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, and select the Chart of accounts.
  2. Find the account that has the reconciled transaction and tap View register
  3. You'll see an "R" in the checkmark ✔ column since the transactions are reconciled.
  4. Select the box and keep clicking it until the box is blank. It removes the transaction from the reconciliation.
  5. Click Save and proceed to the rest of the transactions.

For more details about the process, please refer to this article: Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, you can proceed with reconciling the account again and ensure to include all of the necessary transactions appropriately.
