Join nowA reconciled deposit was accidentally deleted. I reentered the transaction. When I run a report of the account the restored transaction appears, but when I view the register it is not there, so I can not mark it reconciled. What am I doing wrong?

Let me provide answers to your questions about fixing reconciliation issues.
When dealing with financial transactions, it is crucial to ensure that all the transactions are recorded correctly. Therefore, it is important to double-check whether the transactions are accounted for in the correct register. Additionally, you should also make sure that the bank that is responsible for recording the transactions is the correct one. This step is essential to avoid any potential errors or discrepancies that may occur due to incorrect recording or allocation of the transactions.
Additionally, you can review the Audit log to view the details of the deleted transactions. Then, you can recreate them manually.

The suggested solution was just what I was trying. The problem was very strange When I entered the new transaction it appeared when I generated a report of the account's transactions. But when I looked at the register it was not there. Thus there was no way to mark it "Reconciled".
I later called the Quickbooks help line. They suggested entering the transaction as a journal entry. That worked.
The mystery is - How can a transaction appear in the account report but not in the register?

I appreciate you for returning to this conversation and considering the advice shared by my colleague earlier, Harry.
It's odd when transactions appear in the account report but doesn't show in the register. An accidentally deleted transaction won't appear in the account report or the register. Otherwise, it will be visible in both places.
You can follow these steps to review the transactions in the register by filtering the correct date, transaction type, and other info.
If the register doesn't display it, but the account report still shows it, you can log in to your QBO account using a private browser. It creates a separate session, isolating it from your regular browsing activities. It helps us determine if it is acting unusual using your regular browser.
If everything works well in the private browser, you can clear the cache optimize your QBO account. Alternatively, you can also use a different supported browser.
