I just had a chat with Quickbooks (Canada Support) and this was their response.
This issue has been reported and escalated to our engineering teams for review. I can let them know that your account is impacted by this issue as well. I can also request you be notified of any updates as they become available.
Hope they have a fix for us all soon
what idiot allowed this to happen...now we need to configure all the memorized reports. please fire them immediately!
Well, he - and the rest of his team - are in India, at the Intuit office there, where sloppy coding and sloppier testing seems to be business as usual.
I suspect they did something to reports, like adding a field, and then didn't update the memorized reports and didn't test them, and probably don't have a clue regarding what they missed. Intuit used to be better.
I am having the same problem. On the phone the phone with tech support Friday for 2 hours and never resolved. I fixed the reports and this morning they are all messed up AGAIN.
I think all funds for development and quality are going to the online product.
We don't want you to have this perception, @cindybev. We appreciate your efforts in fixing the reports on your own. We suggest reaching out to our QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) live support team once more. They can explore additional solutions and help get things running smoothly again.
Here's how you can contact them:
Our QBDT live support team offers round-the-clock, immediate assistance every day.
I've provided this article for you about memorizing reports in QuickBooks. It also includes essential information on reports in QBDT: Create, access, and modify memorized reports.
In addition to your concern, cindybev. It seems like you believe that the majority of the development and quality resources are being allocated to the online version of QuickBooks. We also recommend including this concern about how resources are distributed between different QuickBooks products.
Our team is actively working to improve the correction feature to better meet your requirements. Should you have additional questions or require more help with QuickBooks, please click the Reply button to continue our conversation in this thread. Have a great day!
I am having the same problem, so I contacted QuickBooks today and shared my screen with the rep. They went through all the suggested steps that I am seeing in these responses, and it didn't fix it. The rep tried to tell me that it would be better to use QuickBooks enterprise, but as expensive as QuickBooks is, I'm not about to buy a new version just to fix a problem they caused.
PLEASE let ALL the phone reps know that the problem is with ENTERPRISE 2024 as well as Desktop QB 2024. They don't need to be wasting their time or ours trying to fix our files.
We are not able to correct the "bad" memorized reports. For example, my report has nothing listed under the heading Payroll Item, but the payroll items are listed under the heading "Act. Cost", which is not even a valid column. And it will not list the Amount column. Also, what you see on the screen when correcting the report is not what you get when you print it. It's tax season for CPA firms. We don't have time to set up new reports.
YES! We are using Enterprise and are having issues as well. Specifically what we have found is that the columns Debit, Credit, and Balance are being replaced with Cost, Sales Price, and Act. Sales Price, respectively. Cost isn't even a column in the options for the report! Sales Price and Act. Sales Price are options but are not checked. Dragging the column width to zero removes them. Then the correct columns can be added.
However, we just discovered another issue with the error saying the Memorized Report was deleted, as someone mentioned before! The report IS still there, though. That error only comes up when trying to open it from the menus. When we open the full Memorized Report List, they open just fine.
These are very obviously programming errors that were coded into the most recent update. They need to be found and fixed ASAP. It is absolutely unacceptable for Intuit to release such flawed updates.
I'm having this issue also. I have a lot of reports memorized and they are all jacked up now. The one I pulled up just now was for checks and it used to have Date, Number, Name & Amount. Now it shows Date, Number & Debit. Another Check based report has added Act Cost & Memo with no Amount. I memorized them for a reason and ever since this latest update they are all messed up. I've been using QuickBooks since 1995, so I know how to use the program and it's not that my data is corrupted or it needs to be rebuilt. Intuit needs to fix their mistake.
I am having the same issue. All my reports are shifting to the right and fields that are supposed to show up don't. I have a report that needed to be in a .CSV file for invoicing and I can't submit my invoices because Tungsten networks does not accept the report that was fine until the update. I created the report in 2012 and after the update it won't work. I tried to create the report from scratch again and it still won't work. Tech needs to fix this right away. This is impacting my business.
I am on Enterprise and it has the same issues.
We’re dealing with the same issue. I just got off the phone with support, and it’s beyond frustrating. There’s no fix, no way to undo the update, and no timeline for when it will be resolved. Meanwhile, we’re losing time and money without access to our reports.
If QuickBooks can notify us to install updates, why isn’t there a warning when an update could cause major issues? After this, I’ll be very hesitant to install future updates.
To top it off, the support rep I spoke with was laughing about the chaos this has caused. The only “solution” offered was an email update whenever they figure it out.
This is completely UNACCEPTABLE!

Same issue with our memorized reports after QB update. Running 2024 Enterprise. This is a QB software issue, not a company data file issue. It needs to be fixed ASAP! Some of our memorized reports are uploaded daily to create delivery routes. Since the QB update, our company functionality has been dramatically impacted in a negative way.
Hello, everyone. This isn't the impression we want you to have.
As much as I'd like to resolve this matter directly, the best course of action is to contact our Live Support Team. They have the specialized resources to thoroughly investigate the column issues in your reports and offer precise guidance in handling it accordingly. They'll review your account in a secure environment. Here's how to reach them:
I'll also add these articles to help you memorize and modify your scheduled reports:
Let me know if you still have other concerns in regards to your reports. Our team is actively working to better meet your needs, and we'll address your concerns as soon as possible.
I tried to print my 401-K Contributions memorized report that has the following columns on the original report:
Number, Date, Name, Payroll Item, & Amount
The memorized report I pulled up after updating had:
Number, Date & Debit
When I tried to add the Amount column by customizing the report, I could only get it to show up if I also checked the Balance column. It wasn't titled Balance, it was titled Amount.
I got the report back to the original columns and went to print it and the Number & Date Columns were the only correct ones. It had slid the name column over to the Payroll Item column and the Payroll Item over to the amount column, but the amount wasn't on the printed report at all.
I don't have time for this. I have some other Payroll Reports that I have memorized for Quarterly Payroll return preparation and I don't even remember how I created them. They have been memorized for the last 25 years.
Thank you for the boiler plate response. This should not have happened. I don't have the time to sit on with tech support for an issue that occurred because of an update. I have had this template for the report since 2012 and it has worked fine until now. I have tried to fix and create a new report and the fields don't show up on the screen nor does it print correctly. I tried to export to Excel and all fields are shifted to the right and data is missing even though it is checked in the customize report section. How can your tech fix this if others are having the same issue. It is not my file nor is it others that are complying about the same issue. Please help and fix this issue.
That rep you talked to needs to be put in our shoes. Maybe if their paycheck relied on the work he gets done, they may not be laughing!!
Having the same issue! This is beyond LUDICROUS! We have many LLC's that I updated and ALL OF MY MEMORIZED REPORTS ARE MESSED UP! Is there a way to delete the updates? This is UNACCEPTABLE!
I know how you feel about trying to REMEMBER how to tweak your quarterly reports. Maybe this will help you. (I'll keep it short ...figure you have the experience you can follow)
Just click on, etc:
Go to: Reports
Employees & Payroll
Employee State Taxes Detail
Customize Report....select your columns, and tweak the different items in the tabs there
Make your selections & tweak in fields across top:
Total by: (Name, Quarter, Month whatever)
Payroll Item: (I make individual reports for state withholding, state unemployment, federal unemployment, etc.)
Hope this helps you out.
I don't think there is a way to delete the update since it also updated the company file. Maybe support would be able to help but I don't think there is a way to revert unless you have backups of the file and on the workstation. That also means that the date of the update and you try to restore now then you would have to re-create all the transactions you have entered since the update. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I agree with you
This is beyond LUDICROUS!
Exact same problem I encountered today after the update occurred. I chatted with support and they had me go through the "Update QuickBooks Desktop" under the Help menu followed by running the Verification and Rebuild options 3 times but after restarting QuickBooks, nothing changed. Not a good situation. Hoping that a fix is delivered soon.
@Jessavell_A RE: This isn't the impression we want you to have.
Well, we have the impression that QuickBooks Reports are broken because they're broken. So, really, if Intuit didn't want customers to have the impression that the product is broken, they wouldn't break it - especially in such drastic and obvious and easy to see ways - in a highly used feature like reports!
I haven't updated, so I don't see the issue yet, but from all of the descriptions here it's pretty bad. I wonder how a team of software experts tasked with changing the reports didn't notice that they're not working anymore before shipping their broken reports?
Problem is with R13 update - R11 still works fine - They said they pulled the R13 update until fixed.
