restart company file

Have had QB company file going since we started with QB in 2002. Can I start new company file with all banking, customers, vendors, lists, etc... the same and wipe all years of data so i dont have to re-enter all the info on the new company file?    Thanks, David

Hello mffinc,

Welcome to the Community. It would be my pleasure to assist you with moving data in QuickBooks Desktop.

You can export and import IIF files from an existing company file to avoid entering them again one by one on a new company file. Let's make sure to create a back up before performing the process for future purposes.

I'm linking an article below with the steps on how to move your data:

Export lists from the old company file into a new data file.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you. The Community is always around for you.

Yes, you can do this.

Better than import, use the Condense option to delete all transactions, which will leave you with a file that has only your lists.
