Sales Order

Just created a Sales Order, created invoice (Template S.O), and trying to either preview or print.  Every time I try to preview the screen shows about 1800 previews and in the end I get nothing.  What am I doing wrong?  This is basically the 1st time trying to create an invoice thru Sales Order

Sales Order

You're already on the right track in creating an invoice through a sales order in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @Liftco.

When you encounter unusual printing issues in QBDT, you can easily fix this by utilizing the Print and PDF Repair Tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. In case you haven't downloaded it on your computer, here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it.
  4. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  5. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

After that, let's run the Print and PDF Repair Tool. Here's how:

  1. From the tool hub, select the Program Problems tab.
  2. Select Print and PDF Repair.
  3. Click OK when it completes and launch your QuickBooks to print your invoice through a sales order.

Additionally, there are different ways you can track customer transactions in QBDT. You can learn more about organizing your cash flow, sales, receivables, and profitability through this article: Customer transaction workflows.

You can also customize predefined customer, job, and sales reports to easily track your sales and expenses: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop. It includes details about creating specific custom reports like Sales receipts with payment check numbers and Payments linked to open invoices to name a few.

Please know that you're always welcome to comment below if you have other concerns or follow-up inquiries about managing your income and sales transactions in QuickBooks. I'm just around to help. Take care.
