Share button on estimates not working

I've got your back in rectifying problems about sharing sales transactions via a link in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Zach.

This feature is indeed convenient for everyone, especially in providing your customers with a copy of their orders.

Since the option is greyed out, we can fix this by performing basic troubleshooting steps. There are instances that some functions won't work according to their task, not limited to including other options, buttons, or incorrect display of the data.

We can begin by using a private window to access your company file. This is a useful method for resolving browser-related issues since it doesn't save any browsing history. You can use the following keyboard shortcuts for this:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

After completing the task, it is recommended to clear your browser's cache or cookies to avoid similar issues in the future. Alternatively, opting for one of the browsers that are supported can also be a wise decision.

Furthermore, you can use these as references in converting estimates into invoices and recording invoice payments once they are paid:

I appreciate you for clarifying that you're using a mobile device to access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company, Zach. I'll share some specifics to get this option fixed.

The QBO app frequently maintains a cache to speed up your experience while completing your tasks. However, your system may act unexpectedly when the cache is full, such as losing access to specific functionalities. You may also experience this if your app needs to be updated. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to resolve these issues.

We can start by refreshing the data within the app or from the settings menu on your mobile app. This refreshes the application to remove the older cache that causes this odd behavior.

For iOS:

  1. Go to Settings, then tap General.
  2. Tap iPhone Storage, then tap the QuickBooks Online app.
  3. Tap Offload App.

For Android:

  1. Go to Menu ☰, then tap More Options⋮.
  2. Tap Settings, then Refresh Data.
  3. Tap YES to confirm.

After refreshing your data, you can sign out of your account and then sign back in to see if the Share button is now accessible.

However, if the issue persists, I recommend uninstalling the QBO mobile app and then reinstalling it again to use the app with a clean slate. Simply drag the app to the Uninstall section and tap Yes to confirm. After that, visit these links to reinstall the QBO mobile app:

For the detailed steps on reinstalling the QBO mobile app, see this article: How to download the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

Nonetheless, I recommend contacting our Technical Support Team if the problem continues. They're equipped with the tools to perform a screen-sharing session to investigate this behavior further.

If you have other questions about handling your sales transactions in QBO, kindly reply to this thread. It's our priority to ensure everything is taken care of. Have a great day ahead!
