Show service date on invoice but NOT estimate?

Is it possible allow the service date column on invoices, but not show it on estimates?  At least the customer facing PDF?  I can't see a way to separate invoice and estimate with these options or templates.

The service date is not relevant for me on an estimate because we haven't performed a service at the time of the estimate yet.  I do want to show it on the invoice though.

This is cool:

But I don't want it on estimates:

Thanks.

It's good to see you posting today, teamone!

Yes, it's possible to hide the Service date column on customer-facing estimates but show it on invoices. All we need to do is create an estimate template that disables that column and an invoice template that has it. I'm happy to walk you through the steps.

Create an estimate template.

  1. Click the Gear icon and choose Custom form styles.
  2. Click New style and chose Estimate.
  3. Enter a template name and click the Content bar.
  4. Click the Table section (middle) of the previewed invoice.
  5. Uncheck the Date checkbox on the left.
  6. Click Done.

Create an invoice template. You'll want to follow the same steps above, but choose Invoice in step 2. By default, the Date checkbox is checked, so you don't want to change it. Just make other changes to the form and save it. Learn more about customizing invoices, estimates, and sales receipts.

After creating the templates, make them default so you won't have to switch every time you create estimates and invoices.

I'm just right here if you have other questions about your estimates in QuickBooks Online. Take care have a good one!
