We are increasing the cost of a few of our products. I need to know if these products will automatically increase in the recurring invoices we have set up or do we need to create new recurring invoices?
Hi there, @userhcurts. I’m delighted to have you here and get you assistance concerning price changes on recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Currently, the option to automatically update the amount on your products and services in recurring invoices is unavailable. However, we can avoid creating a new template by implementing the price updates at once.
Before doing so, please know that it will affect your old transactions. To proceed, please refer to the steps below:
Additionally, you can review your recurring transactions and the accounts they are linked to to keep your records accurate.
I’ll be more willing to work with you again if you require further assistance in managing QuickBooks transactions. You can always tap the Reply button to post them here. Have a good one!
I followed your instructions but did not see a box to select to update the price for recurring invoices. I've attached a photo of my view
.
Thanks for getting back to us and performing the steps my colleague has provided, @userhcurts. Let me chime-in on this conversation.
After selecting the product or service item within the invoice template, the option Update price in recurring templates, too becomes available. However, since the option doesn't appear on your end, it may be because the webpage contents doesn't update immediately due to caching and server performance.
First, I recommend editing your recurring invoice template and reselecting the product or service item. After this, redo updating the prices again on the Products and services page. However, if this still doesn't work, I suggest performing browser troubleshooting options to further isolate the problem.
If you need help reviewing all your recurring templates, you may refer to this article: Review your recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Let us know if the option is still unavailable on your end. We're always here to assist you. Take care.
