I am using a third party CISM app that is connected to Quickbooks and something is interfering and disconnecting the app while it's syncing. I changed the setting to allow the application to log in automatically but that makes it worse now. Something else is trying to access Quickbooks and multiple windows open up asking for admin access. I used to have a multi user but don't need it anymore. I stopped hosting multi user on this computer but it keeps changing back to hosting. Not sure if that has something to do with it, but there is definitely something running in the background that is conflicting with the CISM and I can't figure out what. Hoping someone has some suggestions?
What is CISM? Which QB Desktop year version do you have?
It is a CRM application called Crik-it. I use QB Desktop Premier 2020

Intuit still supports QBD 2020. Have you contacted Crick-It support?
How big is your file size? Have you run the Verify/Rebuild Data utility?
I have been in touch with Crik-it, they reached out to Intuit and the suggestion they got was to allow the app to run automatically in the background. Now that's forcing a change back to the multi user mode. How do I completely get rid of the multi user option?
Hello there, @Dragica.
Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I'll be happy to provide some information to stop multi-user access in QuickBooks Desktop.
Here's how:
You'll need to manually configure your firewall software to allow QuickBooks Desktop from running.
Please follow the steps found in the article below (scroll-down to Manually configure exceptions and ports to your Firewall): Configure Firewall and Internet security settings for QuickBooks Desktop.
Make sure to update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
Should you need further assistance with running QuickBooks Desktop, you can leave a comment below. My pleasure to help you.
Yes, I know how to stop hosting multi user, but why does it keep changing back? And can someone tell me what QBIDPService.exe is? It was running as a process but I can't find it anywhere on my computer. I stopped the process, let's see if that helps/
Thanks for getting back to us, @Dragica.
You've mentioned that you no longer need the Multi-user Access on your server computer. The installed QuickBooks Database Server Manager might be the cause why the multi-user hosting keeps on coming even after it's turned off.
Let's uninstall the program make sure there is no other background application running while connecting with the CISM app. Here's how:
Also, QBIDPService.exe is a software component of QuickBooks by Intuit. QBIDPService stands for QuickBooks Intuit Data Protect Service. This is an online backup service that constantly monitors your system for changes and backs your files up to a cloud server.
If you wish to locate this file extension, you can run the Windows Task Manager and take note of its location.

Hi Raymond, thank you for your reply. The problem is that I don't see Quickbooks Data Manager in my programs and features so I can't uninstall it. I will run the file doctor and see how it goes.
thank you
Dee
