Sync With Square Income from Tips

I have a client who uses Square and has installed the Sync with Square app themselves. I noticed that their Income from tips is being tracked to a Square Tips Liability Account instead of the Income from Tips Account. This client is a sole proprietor and has not employees. Can I just change the account on the product/service? Or will that mess up the sync?

Sync With Square Income from Tips

Hey there, @lindalund24

It's great to see you back in the Community. I hope your day is going well so far.

Yes, trying to change the account associated with the Product or Service can help get this problem taken care of. Don't worry. I can walk you through the process.

  1. Go to the Sales tab.
  2. Choose the Products and Services tab.
  3. Press the Edit hyperlink in the "Action" column on the product you'd like.
  4. Make any necessary changes needed and check the box at the bottom to make changes to historical transactions as well. This will make it easier, so you don't have to manually edit the other transactions.
  5. Tap Save and Close when done.

In addition, here are a few articles that can help you in the future and provide further details:

These steps should do the trick. If the issue persists, I recommend contacting Square. I want to ensure that all of your concerns are addressed. I'm always here to lend a helping hand if you need me again. Have a wonderful day!
