Sync with square stopped working after years of using it. I uninstalled and tried to reinstall Install does not complete I get an error message. Help?

When I get to the connection screen I get the error message "can not find or create Square Tips". I have square tips in quickbooks as an item. Square was syncing for years and suddenly stopped Nov. 4, 2020

Thanks for doing what you can to resync Square again. I'll help you out and fix the Square Tips error message. 

 

It looks like the Square Tips setting is disabled in your Accounts and settings page. This is why you're encountering the error message. To fix, you'll want to enable it again: 

 

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Account and settings
  2. Go to the Advanced tab.
  3. Click the Chart of Accounts section.
  4. Turn Square Tips to on.

After syncing Square again, do you need help managing your transactions? Or do you need to run certain sales reports? You're more than welcome to browse topics for QuickBooks Online. I followed those steps and it's still not syncing when I click on "connect".  This is the  error message :

 

"Can not find or create account Square Tips"

Currently, we have an on-going issue where customers, like you, are unable to connect with Sync with Square in QuickBooks Online. Rest assured that our engineering team has been informed and they're in all hands working to fix this as soon as possible.

 

With this, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support so you'll be added to the list of affected users. Once updates are available, you'll receive them timely via email message. To do so:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter the error message in the What can we help you with? field.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Choose a channel where you wish to connect with our dedicated support.

I actually got a reply from QB tech support. There is an ongoing issue they are working on.
