Join nowGood afternoon, @DOD3.
It's great to see you back in the Community!
To clarify, are you referring to archived/previous 1099s or the ones you need to file?
In the meantime, you can check out this guide about creating and filing 1099s in QuickBooks Online.
I'll be waiting for your response!
Taxes 1099 only accesses prior submitted forms. In my case 2023 is the issue - 2022 is totally broken. I just discovered that the View of a submitted 1099 does in fact display the form - it just takes about 1-2 minutes for the form to appear. Other problems are that the list of submitted 1099s is not seachable, sortable or exportable. The Download creates a zip file with each form as a PDF but the name of the extracted file is ENCRYPTED so there is no way to figure out which PDF is which. (I have 1100 pdfs with names like: MY_COMPANY, LLC_1099_0a46a). So when a contractor calls and says they did not get the 1099 I have no easy way to locate it and send it via email. Also, note that none of my filed 1099s were emailed to the contractors at the time of submission. Support says they will be emailed once the IRS accepts the Efiles.
I appreciate you getting back to the thread and sharing the details of your concern about how to get access to the 1099 by vendor name. I'll share information that could help you.
First, could you give us more information about your 2022 1099s? Additionally, could you explain what occurs when you attempt to access the 1099 files? Next, you mentioned that it takes 1-2 minutes for the forms to appear. I suggest using other supported browsers or private windows to isolate the slow system response.
On the other hand, the tax filing for Form 1099-NEC due date is January 31. If any of your contractors have not yet received their 1099, you can navigate to the 1099 filings section and download a copy of the relevant contractor's form.
Here's how:
You can then proceed to send the form to the contractor via email.

When I look at 2022 and try to select a form it returns a message ERROR Failed to load PDF Document. The summary button at the top DOES generate a nice report listing a summary of the 1099s filed. The DOWNLOAD button produces a Zip file containing nothing. 2023 now shows a new status for each 1099 saying, "emailed, mailed" but I did not get the email and I am one of the contractors. The DOWNLOAD does produce a zip file but the individual extracted PDFs do not have a contractor name only a randomly generated string of characters - making the zip useless.
Let me share some information about the PDF error you've encountered, DOD3.
The “Failed to Load PDF Document” error message indicates the web browser you are using (like Google Chrome) is trying to open the electronic transcript within its native PDF viewer. Since the transcript is a secured PDF, it must be opened with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Even if Adobe Acrobat Reader is already installed on your computer, if another program (like Chrome) tries to open the file you will get an error message. To ensure that the transcript file opens, just open Adobe Acrobat Reader first and go to file. Then, select Open, locate the transcript in your Downloads folder, and open it.
On the other hand, once an employer or client submits the contractors' 1099s to the IRS, contractors get an email when it's ready for download. They can select the link in the email to sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed. If they haven't received one, they can follow these steps:
If they aren't able to view their 1099s, you may reach out to our Support Team to speak with a live agent regarding your concern. A live representative can look into your account securely and review the status of your 1099s. To contact support:
