TC21 Zebra Scanner not adding quantity in cycle count. seems like it's trying to scan to the negative sign (-)

Hi GlennRene,

 

We have received reports from other customers with regard to quantity not increasing using the barcode scanner. With that, I recommend reaching out to our phone support so we can add you to the list of affected users. Here's how:

 

  1. From the Help menu, select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. You can type in Scanning Barcode in the QuickBooks Desktop mobile app does not increase quantity.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. You can choose to either Chat with us or Have us call you.

 

Moreover, you can use QuickBooks Scan Manager to scan receipts and documents and then attach them to your transactions. Here's an article as your guide:  QuickBooks Scan Manager: Scan and attach documents to transactions.

 

We appreciate your patience while we resolve the issue as soon as possible. I'm always around whenever you have concerns about tracking inventories.

I am about to unload, and it's not aimed at you specifically, it is aimed VERY MUCH at the poor enterprise support Intuit provides for its "priority circle" enterprise subscribers.

 

"Our crap doesn't work, and yea, we know we told you to buy that really expensive scanner because it would be one of the few that do work, but it actually doesn't for some reason, and well, just get in the queue so 'we can add you to the list of affected users' to find out if we ever resolve it or fix the app, so it works with the TC21 scanner we told you to buy" is not a solution.

 

Our TC20 scanners are old and dying, and we have no functional upgrade path compatible with the CRAP QuickBooks mobile app that SHOULD work with ANY barcode scanner android device, but does not.

 

The End.

 

Now I will "get in line", because we have no choice, except to wait OR find a different solution that isn't Intuit.

 

SIDE NOTE: I have been waiting for the last 15 minutes to chat with support while I have been writing my rant.  Still waiting.

Just found my problem after talking to QBs and Zebra and whomever I could talk to for four days, and no one said anything about it. The TC 21 will work in QBs Desktop but WILL NOT work in Enterprise!! I just stumbled across it on Google.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have also just brought the expansive scanners as told to by Quickbooks only to find they don't scan in the app. Not happy

I can only imagine how challenging this situation must have been for you, Lisalewisgale1, especially not being able to use the scanner. 

 

Let me make it up to you by ensuring you'll be added as one of the affected users regarding this issue.

 

At this time, we have an ongoing investigation about the TC21 Zebra Scanner in the QuickBooks Desktop mobile app doesn't increase the quantity. I understand the hassle it brought on your end. In the meantime, I suggest manually adding the quantity of the items rather than scanning the barcode.

 

Please know that our engineering team is actively working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team to check the status of the investigation and to receive updates if any new information becomes available.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help from the Help menu.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Type in a short description of your concern, then Continue.
  4. Choose a way to connect with support.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SCANNER!!! IT'S ALL IN THE QUICKBOOKS PROGRAM APP. I STAYED ON THE PHONE WITH THEM FOR HOURS AND FINALLY GOT OUT OF THEM THAT THE PROGRAM WAS MESSED UP AND THAT THEY WERE WORKING ON IT, IT'S BEEN MONTHS AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED! SEEMS LIKE A COMPANY THIS BIG COULD HAVE IT DONE IN A COUPLE DAYS. THET JUST SELL PEAPLE THE QB PROGRAMS AND DON'T TELL THEM PARTS THAT DON'T WORK! THEY ARE NOT TOO WORRIED ABOUT THE SCANNER APP NOT WORKING!!

I found a solution on Reddit, from someone with the same problem.  DO NOT download the Warehouse app from Google Play or Play Store.  I downloaded it from there and the scanners didn't work but if you download from the QB help page "Setup and use the Warehouse Manager in QuickBooks Desktop mobile" scroll down to Download and install the QuickBooks Desktop mobile app. click on "On a supported mobile barcode scanner"

Click on Download and install on Step 2.I am using this version and it is scanning.

It is the app, but the root of the problem is that the app you get from the google play store is not the same app you get from the download link on the instructions page.  Try downloading the APK from https://intuit.me/eswma (link found on https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/install-products/setup-use-warehouse-...), remove the install from the play store, and install the downloaded APK.  As per Lisalewisgale1'a post, I did this today, and the scanner now works.

 

Why Intuit would have a different app on the play store than the download, is beyond me, but that is the fix.

I have been struggling with this for over a year.  You would think that QB support would have an article to point people too, or at least for their internal knowledge base.  Thanks a bunch for this tip!!!  My TC21 is now working as expected!

I did all you said, downloaded from the the web, still not working. It is doing the same thing. I have a TC26. The cycle count downloads to the scanner but when scanning it does not add to the scanner. I can manually do it but scanning doesn't work. Could it be a setting in the Data Wedge?

Upon checking here on my end, there's an ongoing investigation regarding the issue of scanning barcodes. To ensure that you stay informed about this investigation's progress, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. By doing so, you will be listed as one of the affected users and receive timely updates regarding resolving this issue.

 

Here's how to reach them:

 

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then choose Continue.
  5. Sign in to your Intuit account, select Continue, and then Continue with my account.
  6. We'll email you a single-use code. Enter your code and select Continue.
  7. Select to chat with us or Have us call you.

 

As a workaround, please manually edit the quantity for now.

 

Additionally, you can run an inventory report to get an overview of your stocks.

TC21 Zebra Scanner not adding quantity

I've downloaded from both with the TC21 and TC26. They both do the same, doesn't add to the count and I've gone thru two TC21s. Just got off with phone with QBs with my case number from three months ago and all they say is that they are working on it and will notify me.
