Is it possible to change the line spacing in a text box in an invoice template?
Trying to reduce space taken up by text boxes.
Thank you,
Anna Casey
Yes, you can use the layout designer to change the fonts and positions of the boxes and, well, everything else on the printed form. Edit the template and click the Layout Designer button at the bottom of the window to begin.
Hi: Thanks so much for replying. Yes, I am able to change fonts and positions of the text boxes, but what I need help with is adjusting the line spacing between the text lines inside of the text box.
If you know of a way to do that, it would be very helpful to me.
Thank you
Thanks for coming back, Andar.
Yes, we can adjust the line spacing on the invoice template by clicking the sample text in the layout designer and editing it in the Text and Border fields. See the screenshots below for your reference:
Here's how to edit the line spacing of the invoice template:
If you use a template on an invoice and you create another invoice, that regular template should show again. This setting should stay unless you change the template. Here's how:

Thanks for your second detailed reply. Not sure why, but I still do not see where the space between the lines can be adjusted.
I see where the font can be changed, but I need to make less white space between the lines, in order to fit more text into the text box.
Thank you.
Hi there, Andar
I can only imagine the time and effort it took for you to personalize your own invoice. I'll add a few details so you can use this template in QuickBooks right away.
The steps outlined above by my colleague @RCV allows you to change the type of corners, the pattern and the thickness of your border text box as well as the font size. By adjusting the font size, you should be able to fit more text into the text box.
If you need to add more text, you can resize it clicking the dots in the corners and sides of the text box. You can use the Grid to properly align your text boxes.
You can also adjust the grid spacing by clicking on the Grid button below.
After that, you can save your template and use it in creating an invoice.
I've added these articles for more info in managing invoices in QuickBooks Desktop:

Hi Archie,
What Andar was trying to ask is how to adjust text line height, similarly to how you can in Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
I'm wondering the same thing, but more specifically how to adjust the certical spacing between invoice line items.
Thanks for sharing your concern here in the Community, @RebeccaG96.
The steps provided by my colleague are to change the fonts and positions of the boxes and, well, everything else on the printed form. To adjust the column widths, you need to adjust the line height by dragging.
You'll want to add a vertical text box in your progress invoice template from the Layout Designers section. I'll guide you through the steps below.
For your visual reference, refer to the short clip below.
I know how this feature would be helpful for you to adjust the spacing. However, the feature to adjust the spacing between line items is currently not available in QuickBooks Desktop. Thus, I recommend sending feedback to our Product Engineers, so they know what to add to the next update.
Here's how:
In the meantime, here's an article that tackles using and customizing templates in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for future reference: Use and customize form templates.

I would like to increase the length and height of the Bill To and Ship To text boxes for a long, international address with many lines. The template will only allow 5 lines for the addresses and will not go past a certain length. I do not need the window envelope screen. No matter how small the font is, it will not print as long as I need it to. HELP
Thank you for connecting to the QuickBooks Community, MHHamm! As my colleague mentioned, we need to submit feedback about this situation. I urge you to follow the instructions above. If you have any other questions, dont hesitate to let us know!
