Hello, Fiola.
I have a couple of solutions to help you fix the 404 error code on the Contractors tab.
Do you have a team that manages the company in QuickBooks Online? If so, is your access right set under Regular user? The issue is likely related to the users, so you'll want to refresh this by setting your rights as an Admin temporarily.
Reach out to your company admin to change your access rights. Share these steps with them in case they need help:
After changing your access rights, check the Contractors tab again. Reach out to your admin again after managing your contractors to change the access rights to a standard or regular user.
However if you're the only one managing the books and the company, then the 404 error code is likely related to a cache issue. You can isolate this by using an incognito browser (it doesn't use the existing cache data):
In the incognito window, log in normally and check the Contractors page. When the 404 error code doesn't show up, you can start paying your contractors. To fix the issue completely, go back to the regular browser and clear the cache.
When the prompts are completed, close out any browser instances to finish the process. You can also use another supported browser since each browser uses a different cache data.
If you need help managing your contractors or vendors for the 1099 form, you can check this article: Understand which contractors need 1099s.
If you have any other concerns regarding payroll or your contractors, lay down the details below. I'll also work with you on other features in QuickBooks such as reports and list management. Always here to help.
I'm experiencing the exact problem with paying contractors, both admin and primary admin get error 404 message. Were you able to solve this issue? I've been on the phone with QB for 5 hours and am just getting the run around. I've tried all of their "fixes, different browsers, different computers, users and nothing has worked. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!
