Time Card Note Requirement Assistance

I may have missed it somewhere but I hope to find a solution or workaround for the following when adding time.

 

Note Required feature options - Default to required note only when subsequent changes are made to the initial time entries instead of every entry.  In addition, the ability to enter a new and distinct note (remark) that justifies the change to the timesheet. Each time a change is made, an employee would have to enter the justification on why the change was made in that instance.

I appreciate you for posting here in the Community. I'm here to provide some information about entering time entries in QuickBooks Time.

 

Currently, an option to require notes when making changes to entries is unavailable. As a workaround, you can add custom fields for the extra details on your timesheet.

 

However, you'll need to enter the information manually into the system. Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Time account.
  2. Go to Feature Add-ons, then select Manage Add-ons.
  3. Under Get More, find Custom Fields and select Install.

 

I appreciate your input on this feature. We continue to improve the features in QuickBooks, and this preference might be available in the future.

 

As we assess this, I suggest you submit your idea directly to our product engineers. Please follow these steps:

 

  1. Access your QuickBooks Time account.
  2. Click the Question Mark icon in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Suggest Idea

 

I've also added an article you can use to learn how to enable QuickBooks Time add-ons: Install and uninstall add-ons for QuickBooks Time.
