Hi Everyone, I just transferred my client's company from Quickbooks online to QBDT pro 2016. But All data is not transferred through QBO Backup into QBDT.
Like sales income account have amount showing $3500000 now in QBDT it only sowing $2600000. And same for others accounts, when i run report to check account I feel many transactions are missing that cause negative balance and showing less numbers than original.
QBO company is too big like 4 Banks and 30+ Credit cards and many sales channel. Is there any way I can transfer all data into QBDT through QBO Backup.?
i also read some articles and answers from Community like re-upload backup file of QBO if it not work then manually adjust balance, but in my case I have a lot of accounts, so it is very difficult to match balance by adjustments
Thank you.

Hello, Saqib.
I'll jump aboard and provide details about the conversion process. I'll also give some ways on how you can preserve all of your client's company data as you convert their file.
There are certain limitations when converting from QuickBooks Online to the Desktop platform (since both programs have different features). As what you've noticed, some of your sales data (and possibly other data) didn't convert.
Before we dive further, I would recommend checking this article to know the limitations when converting from Online to the Desktop platform: Limitations when you convert from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
You're right about adjusting the balances manually. To elaborate further, this is done through journal entries. If you'd like to go with this method, I'd recommend consulting an accountant before doing so to ensure your balances are correct as you adjust them.
QuickBooks Online (Plus, Essentials or Simple Start) doesn't have a backup file system, unless you have the Advanced subscription. However, you would want to use a converter or an app to import the data to QuickBooks Desktop.
Though, another way for you to get all of your data is to contact our support. They'll help you with the conversion again and ensure your data is converted properly. Here's how to contact them:
Alternatively, you can look for a third-party conversion service. One of our users might chime in this thread and recommend one for you.
Do you need to take care of your taxes after porting all of your data in QuickBooks Desktop? I would recommend checking the articles in our Taxes topic page.
From there, you can find help articles that'll help you mange your tax forms, check your liabilities and more.
If you have any other concerns regarding your QuickBooks Desktop data, I'd be glad to lend a helping hand again. Do you have any questions about the processes within the program? Please let me know the details. I'm always here to help.

Try converting your QBO data to a supported QBD version (i.e QBD 2019-2022).
Thank you, yes I already read all articles, about limitations etc. My concern is to transfer whole QBO database into QBDT. I tried many times, but balance is not matched after uploading backup of QBO into QBDT, I know we can match numbers through journal entries, but in my case we have a lot of transactions from different account and their negative balances, because all transactions not imported through QBO backup, and it is impossible to match balance through journal entries.
Is there a way we can create one backup file from QBO with all transactions for QBDT?
And yes I also see exportqbodatatoqbdt article and use that tool but after uploading into QBDT some thousand transaction are still missing from different accounts
Hello there, @Saqib.
Currently, we're unable to create a backup file for all of the data that you want to transfer in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
In the meantime, you can consider looking for a third-party app that has the feature you need for your business. You can visit our QuickBooks App Store and look for an app that integrates with QBO. Or, you can go to the Apps menu in your QBO account and look for an app from there.
I'd also recommend checking our QuickBooks blog page regularly so you'll be updated on the latest features and improvements in QBO.
