Trying to Convert Quickbooks Pro 2014 to Quickbook Essentials. Need help.

Welcome to Community, @scottdanoff-gmai.

I can guide you through the steps on how to convert QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Since you have the older QuickBooks version, you'll have to use the QuickBooks Desktop file restoration tool to upgrade your file.

Once your QBDT file is ready, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in as an admin to the company file you need to import.
  2. Go to Company, then pick Export Company File to QuickBooks Online.
  3. Tap Start your export.
  4. Sign in as an admin to your QuickBooks Online company.
  5. Select Choose online company, and choose the QuickBooks Online company you want to replace with your company file.
  6. Tap Continue. Enter Agree in the text field, and then Replace.
  7. Select Yes, go ahead and replace the data, then click Replace.

For details about the process, check out this article: Move your QBDT file to QBO.

With the above steps, you're able convert your QBDT file to QBO.

I've also added our QBO help page to help you manage your QBO account. It has our general topics with articles.

Drop a reply to this thread if you have follow-up questions or concerns with the migration process. I'll be around to help. Take care and have a great day ahead.

Your QBD version is outdated. You can utilize the trial version for QBD 2019 to upgrade your file and migrate to QB Online. Contact us in private and we may share the trial code for it.
