Trying to reconcile bank register and cash is negative

Beginner bookkeeper here. Payroll is setup in QBO. There’s two bank register - a checking account and “Cash”. Checking account is reconciled. Cash account is negative. I see direct deposit payroll transactions showing under Cash account. These wages are also showing in Checking account. Why is that? How would I reconcile this? Business is a partnership.

Thank you for posting about your direct deposit, CKIM1993.

Rest assured that this will be checked. However, I'm going to let you contact our QBO Payroll Support instead since this is a direct deposit transaction. You can have a screen-sharing session with them, and they will help you correct your record.

On the other hand, if you want to search for references for payroll, just visit the main support page and click More Topics.

You can always go back to this thread if you have other concerns. Take care and have a good weekend!

It's entirely possible and not uncommon for a growing company to have a negative cash flow from investing activities. For example, if a growing company decides to invest in long-term fixed assets, it will appear as a decrease in cash within that company's cash flow from investing activities. Emory Blue Patient Portal
